was gonna say I wasn't saying Boone wasn't but Crockett definitely was real. More familiar with Crockett, in fact just finished a couple of history books that involved him, one on the Apache wars and the other on the history of Dodge city. Not really familiar with Boone, i think i will check that out

I am pretty sure both were real. Or my history teacher was smoking something.

yeah, its interesting the process of making them into folk heroes, and it began back then, the dime novels and all that, romanticizing the West. How about Bat Masterson, he was real, and lots of less familiar characters. Check out a guy named Mickey Free, kidnapped and raised by Cochise and the Apache when he was a boy, later became an Army scout in the Indian Wars, instrumental in the capture of Geronimo, the movie Hombre had to have been based on him.

its this time of the season when I begin to reflect on how far behind we are. I mean not to be all negative but we are not to the level of like a Twins club or the A's and they are not at the level of these two clubs

Because along with bringing along their core they played at the top of the free agent and trade markets, not the middle or bottom.
