I had a great breakfast at the Clovis Veterans Memorial office north of Fresno along with a car show and a band.... beautiful 78 degree weather outdoors in the Park. For lunch, I had a nice top sirloin along with sauteed broccoli and garlic mashed taters.... at Applebees. It was all free, but I paid a little extra for it.... just appreciated the gesture by the community and wanted to pitch in to help pay for other veterans less fortunate. I never went to Vietnam.... I was a Drill Instructor at Fort Polk in advanced infantry training ultimately sent to Thailand in 1968 to work in an R and R facility for the overseas troops. So I had it easy and came out in the best shape of my life. Still, I'm grateful for the respect shown the military these last two decades and the fabulous treatment we vets are receiving at the VA hospitals which has improved beyond measure since Trump became president. That's a fact. I will be going through my fifth operation on my eyes next month as the VA tries to restore my vision. Cataracts, Retinal detachments, glaucoma....lasik surgery and oil and gas injections.... this has been like a some kind of pre med OJT training program, but the VA allowed me to farm this work out to local specialists and they are footing the bill for everything. It's the way it ought to be for guys and gals who put their lives aside to serve....

Thank you for your service, Terry, I can’t think of a better use of taxpayers’ funds than to Upgrade the medical care of our Vets!

Great to hear about the success of Trump’s input from an insider!

Best wishes on your eye treatment, I had cataracts in both eyes, and my glaucoma is in remission.

I actually got into the swap meet for free yesterday. I was wearing my USMC shirt and I ended up saving four bucks. I wonder if that would have worked at the strip club.

Later at the gym some old-timer said "Happy Birthday" to me, which was nice. The Marine Corps makes a big deal out of its birthday even though its birthplace was a tavern where probably more than a few guys were too drunk to know what they were signing up for.

I was in Iraq on a MC commanded base during B-Day. We each were assigned like 2 or 3 beers a piece. I was able to but a few for 10 a piece so caught a lil buzz that night. I was dry the rest of the deployment but one night was buzzed like M.A.S.H.'s Honeycutt.

Thanks from Han (Army)

I looked into going into Navy or Air Force but who knew they had top end height restrictions? It is the one thing that i haven't liked about my height.
