Hey this Hill guy’s huge, Baseball Reference has him at 198 centimeters and 102 kilograms!

😳🥴
I am 209 cm so he is not that huge
I had you pegged at no more than, say 205?

Milwaukee's farm system is weak, I was hoping for more for Narvaez frankly. But let's wait and see. I'm also concerned that Mayo has the Mariners taking a college pitcher in the 2020 draft. Hope the M's come to their senses.....Number 5 is too nice a pick to waste.
It certainly appears that the 70ish pick in the draft is the primary return in this trade.

Could end up being a good draft for the M's, they should have 3 picks in the top 70
Won't it be 4 in the top 85-90?

Can we just trade Dee Gordon? Literally the only thing that will make me look forward to the season is not having to watch him beat grounders into the dirt and not leg it out for a hit.

Absolutely. Add Mallex Smith to that list and sign me up.

I was pretty pleased with the return.
the comp pick is currently #70 I believe so more money along with the slot. The top 5 pick is almost 100% to be slotted in top 100 lists as long as they sign, and are healthy. # 70 still probably adds to you top 30 somewhere. The M's top 15 is stacked so .

Anyhow the pitcher looked like a good shot to develop into a solid contributor. I like him at least as much as the other return from the Yanks.

Here is an excerpt from 710's write up.
Hill, originally a fourth-round pick out of the University of South Carolina by the Mets in 2018, was acquired by the Brewers in a January 2019 trade that sent Keon Broxton to New York. Hill spent the 2019 season at High-A Wisconsin, where he made 23 starts and three relief appearances, going 7-9 with a 3.92 ERA while striking out 109 and walking 55.

The 6-foot-6 right-hander, who was ranked as the Brewers’ 26th-best prospect, throws a 95 mph fastball with a slider and a changeup that caught the attention of Rob Friedman, aka @PitchingNinja.
Title of a video of him K'ing someone

Adam Hill, Filthy Changeup (14th K/7 innings).

I think we just added basically 2 top 30 prospects while making room for Nola to be the favorite to partner with Murphy for catching platoon next year.

I'm not surprised by this at all. Frankly, anytime I thought of Narvaez possibly being traded anywhere, the first place I thought of was Milwaukee then Tampa.

What I am surprised by is that it's taken this long. No doubt this has been in the works. Curious to see if this will free up another roster spot on the 40 man. I'd love to grab 2 of T. Walker/K. Gausman/B. Treinen.
Yes, I mean Trienen had a down year but he was the counter to Diaz had the best year of relievers debate(2018). I would consider spending several million as a bargain. He earned 6.4 last year and was slated to be awarded 7.8M for 2020. Would 5.5 M win the day for a 1 year make good? Truthfully I would probably go 6.5 or 7 with-in reason for him. 2018 was the 0.78 ERA unicorn but he has had other years ERA in 2's so pretty good bet last year was some sort of effect of pitching 80+ innings in 2018.

There weere a number of eye raising SPs and BPs released so if medicals and stuff checks out why not? Walker was a 135 ERA+ back in 2017 over 28 starts.

The kid we just got in the trade looks like a prime candidate to swap to a bullpen role.

How hard was Diaz throwing as a starter again?

He throws 92-95, but has supposedly pretty good changeup and Slider from what I've read. I imagine there's a good change he moves to reliever in the future, but they will give him every chance to be a starter. Seems that command is the biggest problem for him with over 4 BB/9. If he can improve there, all his numbers should start looking better.

I'm glad to read your positive reviews about this trade.
At least we have another good looking catcher to pencil in
Looking at Tom Murphy's lengthy minor / major league career stats..last year was either a fluke or if you are an optimist he is a 29 year old Late Bloomer.
