Re: Cole, I gotta say...8-10 years of topmost dollar for any pitcher who’s already 29 is sheer fucking madness.

Except for the Yankees.

thought the Mariners were supposed to jump in at this point, sweep Cole off his feet with an offer he couldn't refuse, have the cornerstone pitcher for the rebuild

Fucking Giants!!!

And Phillies just agreed to a deal with Didi Gregorius. 1-year $14 million. He rejoins Joe Girardi.

So here is how the M's could be involved. The Yanks are looking to trade JA Happ and his $17mill contract to try and get under the salary cap.

https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2019/12/ ... -happ.html

So the M's trade for Happ and any other bad contract( 2years or under) and get back 16yo wunderkind Jasson Dominguez. We get back... a possible superstar for some cash

That is the problem with not being a normal franchise but being one that hasn't made the playoffs since Brittney Spears was hot. 16 yo aren't going to end the nightmare before every single employee of the team is canned.

Merriam-Webster has named "they" its word of the year.

The US dictionary also recently added a new definition of "they", reflecting its use as a singular personal pronoun for non-binary people.

Searches for "they" on Merriam-Webster's website were 313% higher this year than they were in 2018.
