Southpaw Dave Fleming, went 17-10 his rookie season, 1992, but 2-5 toward the end.

Flamed/Flemmed out say 2 years later.

Two guys come to mind, both supposed to be great hitters, and turned out to have good Septembers, only to never really be relevent again.

Dustin Ackley and Jeremy Reed. Heck, I just realized as I googled to figure out what Jeremy Reed's name was (always have to Google Freddy Garcia trade because I can never remember) that Mike Morse was involved in that trade too!

I had high hopes for Dustin Ackley, Jeremy Reed, Gil Meche, Joel Pinero.....I am sure I am forgetting some.

That was him...Joel Pinero.
For me he was the greatest middle reliever we ever had.
Our starting pitchers were so terrible...in came Joel Pinero to stop the bleeding.
Where is a Joel Pinero today? We don't have one.
We are slowing starting to form a decent bullpen but no sure closers in sight.
Really frustrating.

I LOVED Joel Pineiro!!! Bob Wells for me, had that one year he won double digit games had to be the closest thing to the Best Mariners Middle Reliever season until Shigetoshi Hasegawa showed him up in '01 was it?!

I've got a few, Russell Branyan is probably the most notable but for me I'll never forget Jose Paniagua and his first year here! Mannnn I thought he was gonna be the shit.

Bullet Bob Wells, The Pride of Yakima, generally came in with say, at least a 4 run deficit in the 5th inning.

Bob Wolcott was thrown in to a playoff game against the Indians, had a few good games before vanishing.

Paniagua. Me, too. Thought he was going to be solid for years but he was part of another shitty trade that the M's lost. He was traded to the Rockies (and was gone in 3 months to the Tigers) along with RHP Denny Stark, who had a very good first year with Colorado but he was their Flash in the Pan and quickly faded into obscurity. LHP Brian Fuentes also went to Colorado in that and was one of baseball's top relievers there for 7 seasons; had a 12 year MLB career. The Mariner's haul for those 3 pitchers??? Fukking Jeff Cirillo, that's who.

Cirillo was a consistent .300 hitter for at least 5 years before arriving here.

Hit over .320 for 4 seasons.

Started in Milwaukee.
