Rocky.... post the lineups.... looks good tonight though as I predicted Vogey is in there since he hit .800 last year against Gibson. No Mallex Smith, no Dee Gordon though...

But what are they losing now by giving White a chance to prove himself?
Probably his future.

Guess we'll see.
Like you said, either a guy can hit or he can't
I think he can hit. Just not at this level. Yet.

My concern, though, if they keep trotting him out, is that his inability to hit at this level is going to get inside his head. Then, when they option him to Tacoma to work on his hitting, they're also going to have to get the can opener out and go inside his head, as well. I would opine the best thing to do is to send him down now, let him work on his bat in the intrasquad games, put Nola in at 1B, and Vogelbach as a LH option (looks like they're not going to jettison him anytime soon, anyway).

Mariners just need to go with 3 C when Murph gets back. Nola plays almost every day in the field or DH, while spelling Murph at C. They won't put Nola at DH unless there is a 3rd C on board incase of an injury to Murph

Anybody else see this? Sloak, Ranger's CFer player RF last night versus the Angels.
[/ By T.R. Sullivan @Sullivan_Ranger August 9, 2020

ARLINGTON -- Rangers outfielder Nick Solak was credited with his first home run of the season, with an assist from Angels right fielder Jo Adell.

Then, a few innings later, Solak's home run was taken away, and Adell was charged with an error.

A rare four-base error.

Solak, who was batting with two outs in the fifth inning of Texas' 7-3 win on Sunday at Globe Life Field, hit a fly ball to deep right. Adell seemed to have a little trouble tracking it to the warning track, but he got there in plenty of time to get his glove in position.

However, the ball caromed off Adell's glove, popping out and over the fence. Solak circled the bases while the Angels’ top prospect stood there with his arms wrapped around his head.

"I had an issue with picking that ball back up through the dome with the way it's shaped,” Adell said. “It was a tough read. And it popped out."

Official scorer Larry Bump initially credited Solak with a home run. He later consulted with Elias Sports Bureau and decided to instead charge Adell with an error.

The explanation was that the play would have been ruled an error anywhere else on the field if the ball did not go over the fence, so it was ruled an error on this play as well.

Glad he's playing D against M's tonight. Link has the full story and vid replay. Very Canseco-esque (except Canseco's stayed as a hr).

Drayer tweeted about him being brought up. I suggested he was probably being rushed. He is 2-15 with a .267 OPS. And now that blunder..........
