I hope it's not a pipe dream that Seager might be able to finish the season with numbers that are in line with his non-2018 season. He's really going good right now and he even beat the shift with a bunt the other day.

This is where Vogie needs to alter his approach. Bases loaded, two outs, and he takes two strikes, one of which was very hittable, and then of course he whiffs on a slider in the dirt. He does this quite a bit with runners on. Sometimes he tries too hard to draw a walk.

On a 2-0 pitch for ball 3, Maalox gets picked off first by the catcher. What's that, four times now he's been picked off in the last month? He can not be on the team next year. He just can't.

... and I think the opposing pitcher knows Mr. Vogelbach wants to draw a walk. But first he has to get them back in the mindset of fearing to throw strikes. So he needs to start hitting those first or second pitches.

I think the plan at this point is they play him in the corners as much as possible so they can point to his 0 or negative WAR at the end of the season with an easy decision to move on from him.
Rather than keeping him in CF and he gets 1.6 WAR because he's alive and they have an awkward situation moving on from him with the clueless fanbase.
With that 0 WAR that will result from his playing in the corners it will be pretty simple.

He is in a very bad place mentally.bpj wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2019 2:15 amAgreedDavidGee24 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2019 1:09 amThis is where Vogie needs to alter his approach.
