Guys up there just hacking tonight. Starting the striking out a lot trend. Final tuneup before Thursday.

Starters tonight 3 walks 11 strikeouts. Getting ready for Thursday. Hopefully it calms down a bit. Gotta find a coach to cut these strike outs down. Even in spring way too many strikeouts. Hoping the bullpen can finish the job!

Didn't Miller get pulled in the 3rd with 2 outs? According to Espn, he came back and pitched the entire 4th inning and one out into the 5th. :?

Spring rules starters can come back out to get more pitches in. So if they are having a rough inning take him out then bring him back next inning. If only we could do that in regular season.

Bullpen is looking really good. Despite no Brash and Santos wow. Throwing strikes getting quick outs.

They did that with Kirby when I watched. He had a rough second or third inning and they brought someone in to finish the inning, then he came back the next.
The poster formerly known as Kingfelixk. With a new forum comes a new boardname. Julio is my guy, plus we share a birthday, so that's Culiooooo

I can't believe the number of people on X that are just stunned by this. These have been the rules for at least 4 seasons....

It's a weird rule. What do they call it, the "protect the starting pitcher's fragile psyche" rule? Or is it to keep them from throwing too many pitches without a breaky?

Yes I agree it is ridiculous but is 100% effective at preventing injuries and is why we have less that four pitchers starting the season on the IL. It is basically the Vaccine of pitching rules....
