“When Chris Petersen says in 47 years of watching college quarterbacks that he’s never seen anyone like him, that’s not a recency bias. That’s watching the tape,” Huard said. “… Penix makes (plenty of throws) that nobody else makes. I’m talking deep corner routes and deep out routes from one hash, which, by the way, you don’t have in the NFL. You never have those kinds of spaces because of the hash-mark distances, so he literally does not have a throw within 60 yards he can’t make on a football field. So keep watching Penix.”
He gets all day to throw and has lots of weapons. Not saying he doesn't have arm talent. But his footwork and arm slot has thrown some troubling passes that have lead to unwarranted overthrows and INTs.

Wasn't Huard the one that said last year that "there is Bryce Young in his own class and then there's everyone else" ...or something along those lines, just before the draft?

It is about the time of year hype season starts.

The have Penix below Williams, Drake Maye and McCarthy but I am sure he will go in the 1st round....

Looks like we'll be drafting a QB this coming draft day.
i sure hope so. on KJR today they broke down Geno's rating on 3rd down this year - his QBR on those was something like 4.
Worse yet, on 3rd and medium his rating was like 34 as opposed to the league average of 91.
Supposedly if he had just chucked it to a cheerleader every time he would have a higher rating!

He didn't protect Russ after this game. THis was the beginning of the end for his relationship with Russ, TBH. Was Russ a baby about this? Fuck yes he was. Should he have used it as fuel to prove Pete wrong? Fuck yes he should have. But, if Pete is going to be that upset over an offense that was setting records, why the FUCK is he spending so much time protecting this one that is complete dogshit, and lead by a QB that isn't even below average right now?
Jsus. where did you dig all that up?
Pete not wanting to bury Geno at this time, IMO, is a bad sign. Not for Pete going soft, but because it means Pete
is afraid Geno either is, or is on the verge of being, broken. And, he knows Lock isn't any better.

Just like QBs almost never condemn a shitty O-line - for fear they will give the turnstile treatment, Pete fears what
it would look like if Geno goes full surrender mode or fuck everyone mode.

Could be. I think I said it in here, but Pete might feel he fucked up back in 2020?

Geno's been throwing picks. Hard to blame the O line on that when there are two superior options available, throw it away or even take a sack....
