13 teams carried three qbs last season

More common than i thought. I wonder how many of those 13 teams had a solid starter (top16) and quality QB2.

There's the list, some decent teams on it including the 49ers who got burnt. Not saying the Seahawks draft a QB but I think there's a reasonable model. A starter, a guy that can start since there's a pretty good chance the starter getting injured, and a developmental guy, say Penix.
Dolphins, Steelers, Colts, Texans, Titans, Raiders, Cowboys, Eagles, Vikings, Falcons, Panthers, Saints, and 49ers.

I was looking at 2012 think we had Tarvaris, Flynn and RW but only had Flynn and didn't trade him until April 2013.

Btw Flynn is 8 years YOUNGER than Brady...
Tarvaris wasn't on the roster that year according to pro football reference. In fact he isn't listed with any team that year, must have been on IR and/or practice squad.

Never mind he was with the Bills that year and didn't play at all.

And then he came back when Flynn was traded?

Yes. But Flynn was the only backup in 2012.

In fact, you have to go back to 2008 for the last time the Seahawks carried 3 QBs. Hassleback, Wallace, and Frye. That's probably why i thought it was so uncommon.

Smith, Howell, and Penix would make for some interesting debates and perhaps competition if the season goes badly.

Frye was the worst QB I have ever seen in my life. Almost positive he came mid season and only lasted a few games btw.

Yeah i believe you're correct. You probably have to go back to pre-Holmgren days for a Seahawk team that started the season with 3 QBs.

JS'S take on pentix, he threw the ball like really far
.
“Well, obviously, Coach Grubb likes him a lot, thinks the world of him. Coach Huff (too), so we feel like we have great information on him. You know, for us, he’s just always been a real steady performer, and what a great job he did this year going to the national championship game and everything.

“So yeah, it was great to go see him, he had a real nice workout (Thursday). Not getting into comparing quarterbacks or anything like that with J.J. (Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy), but he seems like a really cool person. Obviously we know what kind of competitor he is, but he threw the ball like, I don’t know, 95, 100 yards today a couple times. He really, like, threw it downfield real far, so it was it was a good day for him. So we’re all happy for Michael.”
