Their has to be more candidates than this. That being said, I want someone with a balanced offense. Don't know if any of these guys fit that bill.

Little odd that the OC and DC searches taking longer than the HC get.

We can probably do DC in here too. Names of interest:

Chiefs DL coach Joe Cullen
Cowboys DL coach Aden Durde

UCLA was pretty good with DTR, a sixth year QB, and Charbonnet, an NFL RB. Otherwise the offense has been pretty damn bad at UCLA. I wasn't aware this was shocking news to anyone. Let's put it this way, if KDB and Grubb had offensive production similar to Chipper? They wouldn't have jobs at Bama, or Washington, or just about anywhere else for that matter. Chip is living off reputation.
I wonder how he was so good at Oregon. Great players or teams hadn't figured out how to stop his scheme yet or both....
A little of all of that. Not much different to the fact that the read option isn't really the threat it was when it looked like guys like RW, RG III and Colin K. were going to take over the league. Defenses and more importantly, Defensive Coaches, catch up. That's what I think. Chip ran an offense that not many others did. His philosophy eventually was adopted by the SEC and Big 10. Think back to the "game of the year" way back in the Sark era here when Bama and LSU played a thrilling 6 to 3 slog fest!

Chip's offense was very innovative, but that was in the Belotti days at Oregon. Times change. Same reason Pete can't just run his same defense and have it dominate. The game has changed, and schemes have adapted.

This link is pretty weak, but it's about Seattle's search for an OC. There's video if anyone is interested.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/se ... r-BB1hGMqn

From the article:

"Macdonald didn't delve into many specifics about what he will be seeking from an offensive coordinator, but he did indicate that previous play calling experience wouldn't be "near the top of the list" for consideration.

"We're looking for the right person to come in here and build this thing," Macdonald said. "So we want somebody that's open-minded, that has a growth mindset, that can connect with their players, and build a system that's unique to the Seattle Seahawks that's going to live here for a long time and who's going to be the one spearheading it."

What does JS interviewing Chip Kelley even look like? You would trust his record and the tape for his philosophy. You could easily call
coaches and players that were under him for takes on his leadership abilities and work ethic. I would guess all that's left is to talk
with him on if he could take being, and be humble enough to be, #2 or #3 on the coaching hierarchy. Does he want the job and if so, why?

His system fluorished at first because defenses werent built to handle the combination of A. the horizontal pressure, utilizing every inch from sideline to sideline, and B. the hyperspeed playcalling. That didnt allow the defense time to sub out and challenged them mentally having to more quickly process the situation in terms of down & distance, etc. The offense having the huge advantage of knowing the play call, with a simplified smaller playbook allowed them to play fast and the defense left to react.
It took years of newly focused recruiting to find a different style of athlete that could be multiple (play every down, run or pass) since the pace of play took away the option of specialty sub packages but eventually they did, and seems Kelly doesnt have a counter.

Yeah like interviewing Belichick. Do they ask the typical interview questions, what is you biggest weakness? Where do you see yourself in 5 years???
