That team went 4-12 including 0-8 at home. Pretty bizarre.
Wow, so they won all of their games on the road that year. Bizarre indeed.
4-4 on the road, right?

Yep. .500 on the road and .000 at home, that's like the exact opposite of today's Seahawks. Although so far they're undefeated on the road and have already lost one home game.

Henderson on the Chubb vs Penny issue
Troubling trend: You can't pass definitive judgment on a draft pick less than a season-and-a half in, but the Seahawks' decision to pass on Nick Chubb in favor of Rashaad Penny with the 27th overall pick last year is not looking like a good one. How's this for irony: Part of the reason the Seahawks went with Penny was they felt he was the more durable player and better pass-catcher than Chubb. Well, Chubb ran for 122 yard and two touchdowns on 20 carries and caught five passes for 17 yards on Sunday (he lost a fumble on one of those catches). Penny, meanwhile, missed his third game of the season with a hamstring injury -- his fifth missed game out of a possible 22 for his career. Watching Chubb play well with Penny on the sideline would have been a lot harder for the Seahawks to stomach had they lost.

Only missed 5 games? He sure has been MIA more than five games.

I almost feel like if all the experts had said Penny is a better pick than Chubb they would have picked Chubb. It's like they are obsessed with making contrarian picks.

I don't think it was contrarian was it, thought the issue was taking a RB, not the one they took, been a roll of the dice between the two of them on draft day

Penny was rated higher than Chubb here, though pretty much even

and here too, though Chubb is viewed as a "riser"

So, it was Mike Davis' greatness that held him back in those game Carson didnt even suite up?
No, and Mike Davis is no longer on the team.
And yet started over Penny. Not sure how that makes your argument.

I remember that team too. They were coming off their 9-7 season in 1979 with Jim Zorn's high-powered offense, started out 4-3 and then lost their last nine a row. The magic of Zorn and Jack Patera just went poof.

I still don't get how RP pulled a hamstring in a practice or walk-through so badly that he has been unable to take the field in 3 of the past 4 games. He also looks heavier than his listed weight. Something isn't right with his S & C routine and diet. And then there's Carson running through brick walls every game and coming back for more, even on 3 days rest. One guy wants it, the other doesn't seem to give a damn.

And now he's gone. If Davis was so much better than Penny they wouldn't have let him go this season.
