take away the oddball plays and they look a lot more dominate, how many times is RW going to bat a ball for a pick six? The other way to look at is they are resilient, don't get rattled, they pull out wins

why the Seahawks won
That's called resiliency, with Wilson leading the way, never once losing his cool after the early turnover and consistently extending plays with his trademark elusiveness. Pete Carroll's group was also just smart, creative and aggressive, from the fake-punt conversion to the methodical ground game fueled by both Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny (176 combined yards). The defense may have got away with a few penalties, but its physicality was also apparent, particularly when the Vikings attempted to mount a comeback in the game's waning minutes.

I was only able to follow the game on-line. Did Kendricks get the start? If not, who filled in for him because the stat line only shows 2 linebackers with any tackles in the game. Also, where was Reed (no tackles but 2 QB hits).

No sacks but they did have 7 QB hits. Should we feel good about the defensive effort tonight? They held Cousins to a 87.2 rating and he has a 114.2 on the season prior to this game.
not sure about start but Kendricks played a good bit, and not badly. despite what the other poster said i thought Bobby Wags finally looked like his old self again tonight, tight on coverage and playing physical. Reed had the near strip sack that also could have been intercepted but ended up instead being just a 3rd down incompletion. DL was not overwhelming like it was vs. Niners, nor even as consistently good as last week vs. Eagles, but still pretty effective, with good contributions from Green (forced fumble and pressure) and even Ziggy. one play that Cousins completed a 20 yard out on could well have been another oskie as Ziggie or someone was draped right over his face, really quite the improbable play. Diggs with a big hit, Flowers the pick. and nice contributions from backups like King with a key 3rd down denial vs. a fleet tight end on a 6-yard out, and Barton holding the edge forcing the sweep play back inside for short yardage. this is def not the same weak D that gave up 400+ yards to the red rifle week 1, or 34 points to Jameis Winston.
Thanks for the info. Feel a little better about the D now.
the other factor - they only threw short, first pass over 15 yards was not till late 3rd quarter or early 4th when they were already down. especially after losing their LT in 2nd half, and Thielen already out, their game plan wasnt going to allow a lot of sacks.

Penny four catches for 33 yards and a TD, if they work him into the passing game, that's another weapon, why they took him in the first round, versatility

Penny has really been balling out, and it was because of Carson fumbles that he got the attempts. So, shouldn't Gordon be taking opportunities from DK now? DK has at least three now that I can think of.
Makes sense to me.

And burn our third timeout. They seem to have bumbled their way into the six seed! Shit.

Fumble. Game over.

It's really hard to get excited over this team. They continually squander opportunities to put teams away, and the defensive blunders late as well. You get the feeling that if they played the Dolphins it would come down to the last possession.
If you can't get excited about this team you're having sex with mr. Spock

D-train, where you at? You need to bask in the glory of your prediction coming to fruition! ;)
I lost all power on the flight from San Francisco to Seattle about 10 miles north of Corvallis.
