None of what you wrote was accurate. I have been more critical of Shaquem than anyone. Absolutely hated that pick. As a edge rusher his technique is quite advanced. He has a variety of moves . A good swim, a spin and he changes direction from outside to in. He was getting in there quick and I even saw him do a nice couple of drops into zone coverage. Kudos to the coaches for finding his niche.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2019 5:32 amThe problem is, when he's out there everyone knows he's only doing one thing. He's a liability against run plays and on pass plays he has to run circuitous routes around linemen that are 100 lbs heavier than he is and that takes more time than most QB's need to get rid of the ball.

So what are you critical of him about?
Re: 2018 draft class kickin ass the past couple games
Everything. I don't think he an be a every down LB however he looks good as a situational EDGE rusher

I don't think I can be anymore specific.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2019 8:14 pmEverything? You mean, like his run defense capabilities? His coverage ability? His tackling? What specifically?

You said I was inaccurate to say that he is a liability against the run. I disagree.

Your comments about his pass rush were completely off.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2019 9:35 pmYou said I was inaccurate to say that he is a liability against the run. I disagree.

I liked both coaches, obviously Carroll has had more success. he has also had more talent, and less expectation, starting out at least. both inherited a team without a legit QB, and Holmgren deserves credit for first betting on Hasselbeck, and then developing him into a pro bowl caliber (or near) player. True Holmgren was hampered by a less than stellar GM, but that was also true of his tenure when he was his own GM - he was much better as a coach than GM. Huge style difference obviously - Holmgren meticulous detail guy, always concerned with team chemistry and morale, much more involved with the offense and no patience for penalties or missed assignments. Carroll the far better motivator who could deal with the problem types and much more defensively inclined. Clearly they are 1 and 2 in the Mt. Rushmore of Hawks coaches. i would put Knox 3 and Patera 4. and Flores and Mora Jr. not allowed within 3,000 miles of it!Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2019 5:40 amyup, when your football team is 10-2 i think you should take the opportunity to be excited about it. Actually, I am leery of the future, I am concerned about the 49ers, so its not like blind faith. But for the moment i intend to enjoy this for all its worth. I have always enjoyed the way the Hawks play football under PC, for whatever reason, even with the wacky aspects of it.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2019 4:45 amHere's to you, Donny.....

In fact I have been thinking of asking a question, aimed at the guys with the big memories. I am curious to compare PC to the Mike Holmgren era. Seem very comparable to me, both great coaches, engaging personalities, plenty of success. But I do not remember enjoying the Holmgren era this much, I enjoy this football more, and for as much fun as RW is, i think its particularly the defense. Anybody want to compare the two?...
