Why do teams not use a draft pick on a pure KO returner?

I'm watching this kid from New Orleans... has absolutely killed the 49ers with 2x long KO returns and a long punt return.

Seems like it would be worth taking a burner later in the draft where his only role is to focus on returning kicks. Certainly better than taking some random offensive guard out of McNeese Little College of Perpetual Tears who will never make the roster.

But nobody really does it... cept NO who uses a QB as a hybrid wildcat TE and this kid. I like that they're getting creative with players.

I'm looking at these guys:

Joe Reed UVA - Career 3,010 kick return yards. KR All American. 4 TD's to the house in his career.

Deion Griffin N Texas - Averaging 40 yards per kick return this year. Former track star in Texas.

Hassan Hall Louisville - Averaging 31.7 yards per kick return and has over 700 on the year. Had 250+ KO return yards against Clemson.

or for those who dont, because of the recent years rule changes to make touchbacks start at the 25 instead of the 20, in combo with the proliferation of big leg kickers.

Because they are bigger wholes to fill? Did you watch this shitty ass Rams team undress us today? Not once did I wish we had a better punt returner.
