Wow. That makes perfect sense. My first sports memory was the 1975 World Series when I was 8. You were 8 in 1979.HawkBowler 2.0 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 1:51 am48... I had a poster of Jim Zorn and Steve Largent on my wall. I don't remember those first couple of seasons, when they played without the logo, but I do remember the Hawks 1979 season when they went 9-7. I became a lifer after the 1983 season when we went all the way... all the way mind you to the AFCCG. LOLD-train wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 1:43 am
Good point. Speaking of age, I am doing a demographics assessment regarding what members age is on the M's forum. I am 52. How about you HB?
Curious how many of you remember this era?

I probably shouldn't admit this but I had a Russ Francis poster. Was a Pats fan in the olden days. Steve Grogan.

Wrong, the 9ers won and got the 1 seed. A win by us, thanks to shitting the bed against the Cards meant the 3 seed...and a second round road game.HawkBowler 2.0 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 1:37 am"The Pete Carroll dilemma comes down to one question: is the team’s floor or ceiling more important to you?"D-train wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2020 4:45 amInteresting question posed by this guy. I am a ceiling guy.

"FWIW I do not think Seattle should move on from Carroll, at least not right now. I do think it’s MUCH more debate-worthy than many fans would like."
So stick with Pete because he keeps the floor away, playoff usually each year, but realize that the ceiling stops short of another title.
Do I have that right?
If so, I call bullsh*t. Jason doesn't look old enough to know what the Seahawk floor looks like. The difference between the Hawks and the 49ers this year is about 3 inches, the width of the goal line. Nobody is putting a ceiling on the 49ers. It's ridiculous to think that the Hawks are not right there with them. Maybe if we didn't lose all three of our RBs. Maybe if we didn't lose our answer to Kittle at TE early in the season.

Oh you kids....
65, retired. First sports memory would be Koufax striking out the side on nine pitches. For a while, I thought that is just what pitchers are supposed to do. Fourth grade (9 years old) TV in the classroom for the Dodgers in the world series. Day games in the World Series, back when baseball was baseball and not a means of marketing bad TV shows and travel websites.

I disagree with the assessment of the competition. The Cards are not a dog shit team. In fact, I predict they will be the next emergence of the never ending emergence of powerhouse teams in the NFC West.Michael K. wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 2:14 am

Yeah, but they can't lose the SB unless they're in it. It was pretty fun that year Krappernick choked.
