Why was Freeman our first option. He was terrible running the football last season at only 3.6 YPC and less than 700 yards. I think we got lucky he rejected our offer. Both Hyde and Carson were at 4.4. Freeman did have a lot of catches but so did Carson. We needed an early done back in case Carson gets hurt or is reinfected with fumbleitis....

Freeman says he will sit out if he doesn't get paid. I am sure this will bring the NFL to its knees.
I think Freeman is a superior back to Hyde.
He is two years younger but I can't get past the 3.6 vs. 4.4 YPC last sesason. I guess it was a down year for Freeman and a career year Hyde...

I'm thinking that having Penny starting out on IR will let the Hawks keep the other four RBs on the roster, and at least see them in game action. DeeJay or Homer are both vying for one roster spot it appears to me.
Dallas > Homer imo.
It's nice to prove it in the NFL though.

How about a little DK?

How about Metcalf working out with Wagner, Gordon and Sherman? Working out with Sherman could help him make a significant jump to the next level.

The skill positions look great. I will never understand the neglect to the offensive line. This strategy might be costing them Superbowls. How confident would you be right now if they had signed Conklin?

About 10x more than I am right now....

btw Clayton thinks he is such a guru but does a guru predict a 1000 yard rusher signs for the vet minimum? Just a bit off given the $3-4 M he got.
John Clayton said Hyde could possibly come in near the veteran’s minimum of $1 million.

John Clayton is never wrong don't ever forget that. My two favorite John Clayton hits are " They better not draft Walter Jones." He said that because it would disrupt the continuity. And " Randy Moss won't be able to beat press coverage in the NFL."

Clayton's main assets as a football "guru" through the years are his near-photographic memory and his abiity to convince football athletes (with whom he has nothing in common) that's he's on their side. It would be interesting to delve into his psychology and to study the events that shaped his developmental years. He should have been a software engineer or dentist, but somehow ended up becoming every NFL player's best buddy as a career.
