I also noticed that you left the touchdowns out.
I appreciate your attempt, but cherry picking stats doesn't do much for me.
:D
Williams had 1 TD pass not exactly lighting it up.

TD passes seem a bit over rated to me. What is more impressive. Passing for 90 yards on a 91 year drive and having your RB punch it in or having your RBs run for 90 yards and throwing a 1 yard screen pass for a TD.

I totally agree. I would rather see the entire stat line rather than just the stats that Penix owned Williams with. I think it keeps it more open to interpretation.

And it's more impressive to me to have:
35 TD and 2 Ints
rather than
50 TD and 19 Ints

There are so many ways to look at the stat lines, and the voters seem to look more at:
TD's
Int's
Yards
Completion percentage

Best stat imo is Yards per attempt...

Ha. Penix leads it. I assumed he would be up there but had no idea where.

How? If a QB just throws the ball 65 yards down immediately every plan, you would call that the most important stat?

I can understand "yards per completion", but per attempt can get loaded pretty fast.

I can also understand putting a lot of weight on "explosive plays". But just yards per attempt; I don't know.

So someone can have the following stat line:

pass attempts over 20 yards, 30
Completions, 1
Yards, 25
TD, 0
Int, 0

This almost looks like something Army or Air Force would have.

Yards per attempt incorporates completion %.

Throwing 30-40 for 300 yards is far superior to 25-50 for 300 yards even though the latter has higher yards per completion.

You only count your yards passing not "yards" for incomplete passes which is a stat that doesn't even exist.
