probably consider it but probably be looking at other offers as well...You know he has some baggage, why he was at UCF. If he is rehabilitated he could be looking at HC jobs I would think
He has been an OC for 5 months. I would think he would need a couple years in that role be HC options open up.
That is five months more experience than any OC Petersen has hired before.

I missed the baggage. btw Tedford resigned. Bring him back please.
You mean as an advisor? I doubt he would take anything less than a head coaching gig at this point.

health...he is retired

"I've been advised that the stresses and anxiety of this job do not match up some of my cardiac issues," Tedford said in a news conference on Friday.

The former head coach said his resignation is "solely to do with health;" he will take time to recoup and to focus on his family.

Tedford underwent an emergency procedure where his heart was shocked back into rhythm after visiting his cardiologist with symptoms he felt "weren't normal" during practice three weeks ago. The players were not informed of the procedure and Tedford traveled to Nevada for the Bulldogs game against the University of Nevada.

He will have an ablation in January at the Mayo Clinic to help ease some of the issues.

"My wife and sons have sacrificed a lot, and now it's time to live," he said.

really?...would think Tennessee be the more interesting, storied program, in the SEC. If i was looking for a springboard to another position, like HC, think i would look Tennessee, more exposure
storied program? i have been a college football fan at least 45 of my 51 years and cannot recall them ever ONCE being in the top 5 except for perhaps a week or two during the Peyton Manning or Tee Martin eras, during which they overwhelmed no one. sure they have had a few good DTs, RBs, and WRs, over the years, but I have never understood how they always seem to be more highly regarded than their record substantiates.

won the national championship in 1998, seven national championships total, second overall winning percentage in the SEC, they have 13 SEC championships, 12th in win percentage and 9th in total wins for division 1 schools, 3rd all time in bowl appearances, sixth in bowl victories, been a pretty successful program over the years. Huskies are 20th in win percentage and 19th in total wins for division 1 schools...

got me thinking where they would rank historically, found this, a ranking of greatest all time college programs using a formula based on the AP rankings since 1935. Washington comes in 21st, Tennessee 10th, though its true Tennessee hasn't done squat since their 1998 championship...

10. Tennessee (686 points) — Much like Nebraska, this college football blueblood has been largely disappointing since winning a national championship in 1998. That year marked Tennessee's last SEC Championship and since Phillip Fulmer's departure in 2008, three different coaches have come and gone without making an impact. The Vols were hoping second-year coach Jeremy Pruitt summons some of the Neyland Stadium magic, but the first half of the season was a disappointment.

I guess it depends on whether he would like the greater challenge or be in the I-can-win-now position. With Tennessee he's looking at having to leap-frog several other programs that are ahead of the Vols and in the SEC that's going to be very difficult. With Washington he can expect to win the conference title right away. I really hope we're going after him, if Bush sucks now he's probably going to continue to suck.

They have basically been a whipping boy in the SEC for over a decade with a 35-62 conference record over the past 12 seasons. Most of their success was back in the 40's and 50's. In the last 50 years they have 5 conference championships and none in the last 20 years. The Huskies have 10 conference championships in the last 50 years and 3 in the Last 20 years.

Only advantage TN would have is geographically given where he has been to date. Not very Seattle like places.
