No love for the Pac 12

Preseason Coaches poll has the Dawgs at 12, and also the highest rated team in the Conference. Five in the Top 24, but no one in the top 11 and only 3 in the Top 20. I guess after last year this seems justified.

Five in the top 25 would be an improvement over last year, wouldn't it? Too many new faces at critical positions for the Dawgs this year, but i think they will do better than 11th.

11th or 12th is good enough - not that far to climb to #4 over the course of a whole season. too many talented but still unproven newcomers, especially at prominent offensive skill positions, equal too much uncertainty for the national pundits - i think that is completely fair. this years team has both a lower floor and higher ceiling than those of the past few years imho, largely because of the QB position. Given the easy non-con schedule (no road game at Auburn equivalent ), home games against key opponents (e.g., Oregon), a hot-shot new kicker, and lack of a dominant league foe, i am cautiously optimistic about a CFP return this year. :D
