I heard (former WSU head coach) Jim Walden on one of the local sports radio shows yesterday advising people to bet on Eastern to cover the spread. He says they are better than the 2014 team that scored 52 against UW and he also said that the 2014 Huskies were better than this year's team. That last part seemed odd.

3 things: 1. doubt they have a better pitch and catch tandem than Vernon Adams/Cooper Kupp; 2. that game preceded the emergence of Kwat & Lake's defensive dynamo, and 3. consider the source (rival coach ?)

i do hear their QB is pretty good though, another dual threat similar to Adams. might not be the pushover i was expecting.

great play call - Newton from the wildcat 22 yards for the touch. something Gaskin ran so well last year, first chance to really see newton in action. looks like a faster version of Lavon Coleman.

Consider the source.

Love the TD. Looking forward to them letting Eason throw more than 13 feet downfield.

Apparently, Ty Jones is now expected to miss most of the 2019 season.
But who will Jacob Eason throw to?

That question became even more clouded this week, when two sources confirmed to The Times that junior wide receiver Ty Jones will likely miss the majority of the 2019 season. The 6-foot-4, 213-pound junior sat out all but one practice last spring with a dislocated lunate bone and torn ligaments in his right wrist (and also suffered a left thumb injury in August).

A UW spokesperson declined to comment on Jones’ status.

That takes away their tallest receiver and a big red-zone threat.
