The Polls

Post by Michael K. » Tue Sep 10, 2019 5:12 pm

Is it the lack of style points in beating UC Davis, no appreciation for the Pac 12, or a loss of respect for the Huskies that keep Cal out of the Top 25?

I realize it was only a one point win on a last second FG, but not too long ago the Huskies are talked about as a dark horse Final 4 candidate. Cal punched us in the damn mouth. Cal deserves to be ranked more than we do, and probably more than WSU does.

Stuff like this is why pre-season rankings are stupid. Let's play a month and then decide. Of course, that is basically what we get with the selection committee, right?

I was disgusted by the drops, the dumb penalties and the rush defense by us on Saturday. But, Cal deserves more credit, IMO, than to be "others receiving votes." Oh, and damn you for leaving us Justin Wilcox. Speak softly and carry a big stick...Jimmy could learn from that.

Well, at least USC moved into the rankings after pistol whipping Stanford. Colorado and ASU also got votes so that's 8 PAC12 teams in the top 35!!!

As I watch now, SC is losing to BYU. Bad for PAC 13 but it still makes me smile
Now tie game with 1:43 left
BYU 1 TO

I watched the last few minutes of that game. USC got fvcked over by the MWAC officials towards the end of the 4th quarter. The DB basically tackled SC's WR as he ran by him and it's offensive pass interference. USC would have been in field goal range (in a tie game) with enough time to run a couple more plays.

Then I flipped over to Arizona St at Michigan St just in time to see a bogus defensive pass interference call go against ASU, allowing MSU to get into field goal range and tie the game up with time running out in the 4th quarter. Unbelievable. Hopefully they can pull it out in OT.

Awful showings this week by SC, Cal and Colorado. On the flip side...Arizona States upset shows we can be competitive with the tough Big Ten

Cal, at least won. A late score by UNT made the game look closer than it was, but it could have been more impressive

North Texas held Cal to fewer yards than the Huskies did. How fvcking pathetic is that?

It looks like North Texas has a better defense than the Huskies. That defense could be a problem when they play BYU and USC.

UW's D is young and a bit inexperienced. I agree with what 57reasons (I believe it was him?) said that they seem to have lost too many pieces through the draft and/or graduation. I do expect them to get better as the season progresses but the next game at BYU will be a tough one. First road game and BYU will be looking to avenge last year's loss when they were here.
