McDaniels Decision Delay

Post by 57reasons » Sat May 18, 2019 5:09 am

Anybody else think this smells fishy? like maybe waiting for a bigger pay offer? supposedly down to UW & Cal's UK - which one do you think more likely to pony up the winning bid?

Why would he even have had UK on the list to begin with, as opposed to other big name schools? I'm sure lots of them made offers but he's only interested in playing for that slimey toad (assuming he doesn't choose UW)? Don't get it.

I have no clue as to his academics but could he possibly be in a situation like the 5 star football kid who dropped and went to Alabama. I heard after the fact that he failed a language class and couldn't meet the entry standards.

You heard that? Was it from a reliable source?

Edit: never mind, I guess you were talking about the football player with regard to the language class, not McDaniel.

Seems ridiculous that there is a signing period, but if you are good enough you can just push it back as long as you want and then sign a financial agreement instead of a scholarship.

I am surprised he didn't announce at a huge pep assembly and then change his mind after Calipari called him on his cellphone to remind him of his "commitment". Yes, this smells very fishy, but oh well. His family has a lot of stuff going on right now, so maybe I am off. But, any time Slimipari is involved I get suspicious.

thing is, if it wasnt for the hope of McDaniel, we would be doing cartwheels over the landing of Stewart right now - i think i read that after the offseason he was upgraded to the #2 recruit overall recruit this class. It's been like 2 whole years since we landed a commitment like that (Michael Porter Jr). ;) Ironically, McDaniel's game would seem pretty comparable to Porter's, except perhaps for the bad back.

“Jaden is an elite player, tremendously athletic for his size and is going to be a great addition to our class,” coach Mike Hopkins said. “He has an unbelievable work ethic and a great skill set for his position, as he can do it all.

Stewart, a 6-foot-9 and 245-pound bruising forward, and McDaniels, a 6-10 and 185-pound smooth-shooting forward, bolster a depleted front line and give the Huskies a potentially devastating inside-out combination.
One NBA scout likened the pairing of Stewart and McDaniels to Duke freshmen stars Zion Williamson and R.J. Barrett who dominated college basketball headlines and highlights last season. By Percy Allen Seattle Times staff reporter
