Well, they sure did blow this season

Ron Francis let Morgan Geekie, Ryan Donato and Daniel Sprong go and replaced them with garbage. He figured everyone else would pick up the slack and the rookies would contribute, neither of which happened and all the excitement the team generated with their playoff run last season may as well never even have happened.

What sucks is that Joey Daccord has been a top-five goalie this season but the offense is as bad if not worse than the first-year team's, and if they'd kept everyone together they'd be challenging for the division title this season.

There's no guarantee that the team will be better next season. They should have followed the Vegas blueprint instead of Francis' five-year plan which is probably going to result in a .540 team that Jerry DiPoto would love.

Very frustrating for sure. Goal tending had been really good overall.

What frustrates me is there is never any urgency during power plays. They spend way too much time setting up for the perfect shot that never seems to happen. Take more shots at the net when you have the advantage.

What was the reason for that, to save money?

It was more to get experience for Tye Kartye, Ryker Evans and Shane Wright. Wright has barely even played (two goals tonight though!), and Kartye and Evans haven't been anything great, plus the new acquisitions have all sucked.

Now, they do have room to pursue free agents, and they'd better pick up one or two scorers this offseason. At the very least they should have kept Geekie.

They expected more from Yamamoto and Burakofsky but they got hurt.....that is like expecting Hanigar and Paxton to stay healthy for a full season..almost impossible.

I am actually surprised they did not fire Haxtol...he is the Scott Servais of the NHL. Weird stat....Haxtol is the 4th longest active tenured coach in the NHL with 3 years.

You could see it coming with Yamamato. His stats were inflated in Edmonton and they didn't think much of him. Burakofsky...even when he was healthy this season he didn't play well and hopefully he just wasn't 100% and this off-season he heals up.

So 34-48, and a boring team to boot. It's shocking that they haven't fired Hakstol. According to Geoff Baker a lot of season-ticket holders aren't renewing and it seems that there are problems with Hakstol's system. Funny thing is, when the Kraken first hired Hakstol and Ron Francis, Flyer and Hurricane fans took to social media to tell us we'd be sorry and it looks like they were correct.
