The barrage of squatter stories has revealed another sink hole in our current state of affairs.

Private Property.

It appears law enforcement has hit another wall of the implicit 'right' of individuals to steal.

Remember in the marxist kingdom we take from the haves and give to the have-nots....or let the have-nots take whet they want. And thanks to urban 'regulation' the shit-heads have more sway than the small property owners.

Squatting perplexes me. I started out thinking it was the same thing as trespassing, but it's not. Two friends of mine who live in reasonably nice suburbs of Seattle have had squatters in their neighborhoods. No, not illegals; in one case it was two (white) couples; in the other case, it was a group of (white) 30 somethings.

There is even a wikihow article on how to do it. https://www.wikihow.com/Squat-in-Abandoned-Property Since it's only in English, I assume it's not targeted at illegals.

In both cases, the houses were nice big (3,000 square feet plus) detached homes with out of state owners who seemed to be just waiting for prices to go up enough to sell and turn a profit. Meanwhile, in neither case did the owner care enough about the property or the neighborhood for anyone to even have contact information. Lesson for me: know your neighbors, build community, and do your damnedest to find out about people who buy a neighboring house but never move in!

If someone robbed a bank and stole a million dollars they would do 20 years in prison. Steal a million dollar house, all good.

Now we have Muslims that Bush and Obama brought here by the millions shouting "Death to America" in the streets.

I thought it was implicit that taking over a property not your own and without permission was 'trespassing'. Silly me.

I did too until I looked up some stuff lately. Squatting goes back to common law. And there is also the Homestead Act of 1862. Occupy land and improve it and it's yours. Doesn't matter if someone else owns it. And certainly the Indians didn't matter.

It doesn't mean that you can just elbow someone out of his home. THAT would be trespassing.

"squatters rights" is an oxymoron, in my opinion. The article makes it sound like 'squatting' is a pathway to ownership...how ironic. In our modern sense, squatting is trespassing and deliberate theft. There are quite a few 'snow birds 'where i live. Does that mean their spring and summer property is on the 'squatters market' ? And are there attorneys who will represent the vagrant class as they materially rape property and summon English common law in their own defense ? This a call for unmitigated force, removal and punishment. Let the squatters find parcel in the magnificence of death valley.
