Pete Townshend flexing his singing skills... a rare sight for Who fans. This classic live version was captured in Canada in 1982, and beautifully captures the heart and soul of Pete Townshend - a skilled axeman - but also an accomplished songwriter. There were many other hits by the Who, but this under- the-radar classic certainly qualifies as a Great Performance just for the killer guitar work, although the jury is still out on his dancing skills.

Not a Doors fan but I did include Morrison in the book I compiled about 10 years ago called, "Only the Good Die Young" about young famous people dying young.
One of them was my HS classmate Layne Staley of Alice N Chains...

I appreciate the Doors' contributions to the music world, but they were a little too psychedelic for me.

I'm the complete opposite i guess. The Doors sounded like music (or something close) and the one in your link just sounds like noise to me. But, i've been known to enjoy a little yacht rock now and then.

I completely understand what you're saying. Everyone has their own idea of music. You like what you like.
Sometimes I like to listen to 'real' music with thoughtful lyrics, and other times I just wanna rock out.

If there were two rooms, one with overhead speakers blaring yacht rock music nonstop and the other psychedelic rock and you had to be locked in one for 24 hours which one would you choose?
