Environmental Injustice!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by D-train » Tue Jul 30, 2019 12:51 am

 What in God's name is next????????????????????????

How are any of what she mentions related to climate change??? How???
In a statement, Harris added that “climate change is an existential threat — it’s critical we act now to achieve a cleaner, safer, and healthier future. But is is not enough to simply cut emissions and end our reliance on fossil fuels. We must ensure that communities already contending with unsafe drinking water, toxic air, and lack of economic opportunity are not left behind.”
More injustice!
Too many communities in America face systemic environmental injustice—that must end.

Today, I'm partnering with @AOC to announce a landmark bill to ensure that a Green New Deal leaves no one behind and lifts up low-income communities, people of color, and indigenous communities.
It's hotter in the ghetto? Or they can't afford AC???
In his own plan, former Vice President Joe Biden noted that “people of color and low-income communities are more likely to live in areas most vulnerable to flooding and other climate change-related weather events.

"environmental injustice" ....if one denies it, then apparently one is the cause of it.

...promote generational indolence with federal handouts and then blame the effect of rat infested cities....on the President.

ever notice how the poverty pimps live large ?

The Earth is a machine that is showing signs of overuse everywhere. Mother Nature has ways of bringing about balance where severe imbalances exist.
Instead of us pretending to know where Mother Nature draws her invisible lines we should look for ways to gradually taper off the Earth's population..preemptively..
Social Engineers have already made great strides in this area..in the developed world mostly.
Each generation will become increasingly unfit, disinterested, too selfish, etc. for the rigors of parenthood.

So on the one hand Kamala Harris and co. are hiding behind the weather report to demand massive subsidies (to their voting constituency) in the name of Enviro-justice

and the President asks the Baltimore Representative Cummings: "Where has all the money (already handed out) gone ???

answer; to the Cummings fiefdom ...22 years building loyalty....not stability.

More climate change alarmists. Surprise Surprise the Seattle Times this time. Call me crazy but this has been one of the wettest coolest summers in the past decade but of course they tell us that is due to climate change as well.

Hal Bernton By Hal Bernton
Seattle Times staff reporter
STEVENSON, Skamania County — When a fire burns close to your home, little things may make a big difference.

Thin layers of metal screen stretched across vents can keep embers from penetrating a combustible attic. Freshly cleaned gutters rob the fire of pine needles that form an easy source of ignition. Removing brush, firewood and low-lying limbs from around a house help create a more defensible space.

The need for such preventive work — and building with fire-resistant materials — has long been preached to those who live in the arid expanses of Washington and elsewhere in the West, where wildfires year after year claim homes and lives. In California, state law, initially passed in 1965, requires such tasks for residences in certain high-risk areas.

But prevention efforts are also increasingly important on the wet, west side of the North Cascades, where the recent hot dry summers have offered a view of a warming world — caused by fossil-fuel combustion — that is forecast to include bigger and more frequent wildfires. For property owners, often the most powerful call to action is a close encounter with wildfire, such as the 2017 Eagle Creek conflagration that raced along the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge, throwing off embers that sailed across the river to start a smaller fire on the Washington side a few miles from the home of Skamania County resident Julie Anderson.

When the fire flared, Anderson was in Alaska working for the National Park Service. For several weeks, she anxiously monitored — from long distance — the progress of the fire, which eventually burned through some 50,000 acres on the Oregon side and more than 250 acres on the Washington side of the Gorge. After she returned home, she trimmed and thinned the Douglas fir and hemlock on her 1-acre parcel, and gathered rocks and pebbles to lay down to improve defenses close by her house.

“The fire was a wake up, “Anderson said. “It’s unreal to think about what happens when all this fuel gets going.”

Ask them how they plan on controlling continental drift, solar flares and tectonic activity...?
Force them to answer this question before moving on to telling them what ignorant and gullible Sheeple they are to buy into the notion that we can control these inevitable cycles .
These are all contributing factors that are completely out of our control.
The Earth's temperature constantly cycles between hot and cold periods that take thousands of years to run their course.

Did you see 60 minutes Sunday? It was on having to use robots to scope out the Nuclear plant in Japan that was destroyed by the tsunami after the Earthquake 8 years ago. The guy they interviewed said it should take about 30-40 YEARs to clean up but maybe 50-60.

Here's an idea to help the environment, don't built nuclear plants 100 yards from the ocean in an area prone to earthquakes and Tsunamis.

Yes, Lesley Stahl suggested burying the whole mess. yeah, brilliant honey, (is that what they pay you 2 million a year for)....and like you say 100 yards from the sea. No, the Japanese are going to do the right thing...spend an estimated 200 billion and clean it up.....

The Eagle Creek fire was started by a kid shooting off fireworks during a 'fire ban'.......duh

but now we know the real cause was ............... the fossil fuel combustion from the trucks, copters and planes used to put it out.

What a wack job.

Specimens like Hal love to sprinkle liberal orthodoxy into their columns. Reminding everyone how everyone is supposed to think.

This is a prime example of how the pressures of overpopulation get in the way of clear thinking. If open land wasn't so scarce in Japan..they might have made a better choice of where to build that plant.
It's mind boggling enough to know that the USA population has doubled in my lifetime..but what would really be scary is to find out what the per capita power consumption was when I was born and what it is now.
Wanna bet it's way more than double...?
Wanna bet per capita water consumption is more than double too...?
