Possibly the biggest idiot to never hold office in the country - the beetlegeuse telling chicagoans 'crime is on the decline" despite the staggering evidence to the contrary - is out. First Chi incumbant in 40 years to not win reelection. My God, there may be hope. Not sure which is the bigger trainwreck in the midwest - Lightfoot or East Palestine.

I'm not hitting a paywall either (and I'm on private browsing mode).

To me the lesson is that voters - even "liberal" voters in "liberal" cities - want to be safe, want to be heard, and want to be told the truth. Elected officials who can't or won't do that have been thrown out in Seattle, San Francisco, and now Chicago.
