The Yankees are now a bridesmaid team
In the last decade they spent $2 billion, won more games than any team in baseball, played in more post-seasons, but no WS trips.

Fvck the Yankees. They have the most entitled fan-base in sports as well as the most spoiled players. They also have big advantages over other teams with regard to signing FAs and Latino players. And they benefit more than any other team from shady umpiring.

First time they have gone a full decade without going to a World Series in a hundred years

The current thread about reorganization of the minor leagues exposes the fact that the Yanks have almost twice the "home grown" talent pool to choose from in their system and so they don't just rely on teams like the other MLB teams like Mariners to supply them with talent.
They also have the umpires rooting for them to win..nobody will convince me otherwise that this is true.

Re: The Yankees are now a bridesmaid team
so if Justice considers the season a failure, why should Yankee fans feel otherwise, why should they be just happy to make the playoffs?"It's a failure," a dejected Aaron Judge said. "In spring training, we talked about winning the division and putting ourselves in a good spot in the postseason to win a World Series. We came up short. No matter how many games we won in the regular season or what else we did, this season is a failure."

The Yankees have built a monster team of position players and a monster bullpen.... they will now address their weakness in free agency and trade over the winter and during the trade deadline, which is to add another ace to their pitching staff..... would not be surprised to see them make a huge offer to Gerritt Cole this winter....
New York controls the MLB in many ways.... and their cable gives them an additional 2-300 million per year to spend on payroll and minor league development. They hold all the cards and the rest of the league is just a farm system to provide some competition for the Yankee market.... Think Harlem Globetrotters and New Jersey Generals...
The only reason the Seattle Mariners, for example, do not have a Pacific Rim cable deal bringing them an additional 2-300 million per year is New York Yankees and their influence on the MLB..... the main reason the Tampa Bay Rays have not relocated to Buffalo, New Jersey, or Brooklyn....is that their presence cuts into that massive cable market...
