Bloomberg literally promoting a Big Brother society
Re: Bloomberg literally promoting a Big Brother society
He brings up the other example of taking away coal miners jobs. He said that is a good thing if they live longer. Well I would bet that most of these people with rather die young with a job and their pride and their freedom than waste away unemployed on the government dole. That is what the elite can't grasp. People want to be able choose how to live their life not be told by the government what is best for them.

I was referring to how he was identified in the twitter posting...D-train wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2019 4:29 pmBig brother actually refers to a totalitarian society where the government tries to control its citizens. Might be some overlap with socialism but has zero to do with how much money the guy preaching it has.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2019 5:15 amSo Bloomberg and his $53 billion is a socialist now, interesting

Oh I didn't see that. Yeah I would definitely disagree with that. He's the moderate to replace sleepy Joe isn't he?

I'm pro guns, but I think some of the cheerleading is just machismo and narcissism. As a semi famous person remembered for baseball proficiency, why take a public side on guns? While there are many great reasons to advocate for gun rights, it's also one of the most commonly regurgitated points by every backwoods, inbred, illiterate person who engages in politics. Is Aubrey worried that the government is going to take away his guns? Seems like he's just feeling strong off his guns, ammo, and male offspring and reflexively decided to make a post that will simultaneously delight and enrage half of America. I would say go for it if you have a real deep cause and you're a real activist, but Huff is just going with some surface level politics here in an attempt to flex his muscle and cash. Of course Michael Jordan is an asshole, but he had the stay out of politics thing down pat, which helped him land massive endorsement deals for Nike, McDonalds, Hanes, and Coca-Cola. Obviously Huff wasn't ever good enough at baseball to have to worry about anything like that. If he were, then he probably wouldn't feel the need for the social media gun flex.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2019 7:45 pmSocialists getting triggered due to this tweet.

Re: Bloomberg literally promoting a Big Brother society
Joe Biden's stranglehold on black voters is tough to stomach. It's the same thing Hillary had, and unfortunately I think it has everything to do with Barack Obama's melatonin. Last presidential election I didn't really follow the Republicans too close. John Kasich was the one that had some of the "I wouldn't mind having this guy over for dinner" vibe that I look for in a POTUS candidate. In 2016, the only thing I followed closely was Bernie vs. Hillary. Clearly Bernie's 6 month attack on HRC factored more than his "endorsement" of her.
Do you guys like the partisan primary system? Or would it be better to have the primaries be bi-partisan and then have a run-off at the end? Top 5 make the final maybe? It's definitely interesting where you have to compete within your party first. Bernie was ruthless when it came to attacking HRC. He went to every town stumping about how she took $250k to talk to Wall Street while he's never been invited. Honestly I think she never stood a chance after Bernie killed her juice. On the other side you had Trump with a passionate following. I forget which states mattered, but I know it wasn't the populous states of New York, Cali, Texas, or Illinois. LOL. Must've been Florida and Ohio.
Right now the Democrats are battling mainly over health care. It's the abolish the private insurance companies vs. keep them. Which one will Democratic primary voters prefer? Which one will undecided voters prefer in the general election? Can any of the Democrats defeat Trump?
My opinion is that Trump could be defeated by a Medicare for All candidate or by a moderate Democrat. However, my prediction is 4 more years of Trump unless Andrew Yang or Tom Steyer is nominated in which case I would give the Democrats a 50/50 shot. However, they will probably go with Biden or Warren and get steamrolled just like when they send HRC rather than the people's choice Bernie.

Doesn't even look like the Dems like Bloomberg's save lives by taxing soda pop idea. Biden has a 25 point lead on him.

Because he doesn't care what the pansies on the other side think about it. Makes perfect sense to me.DanielVogelbach wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2019 10:28 pmI'm pro guns, but I think some of the cheerleading is just machismo and narcissism. Goes beyond that for me. It's kind of what you want to be associated with. Gun rights is a very surface level political issue, not that it's unimportant - just that it's highly politicized. I question how realistically people think the government will take away their guns when you're talking about such a huge retail market. Aubrey Huff is coming across like an idiot here. I'm not trying to vouch for any of the talking heads on major news networks, but you know how they're savvy with their delivery and try to come across knowledgeable where Aubrey is coming across like a washed up old ballplayer longing for the spotlight again. Complete and total fail. Compare him to someone like David Ortiz or Alex Rodriguez. Classic cool versus gun spazzo.bpj wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2019 7:04 pmBecause he doesn't care what the pansies on the other side think about it.
