same rule they use to take it away from Baker's, if you are not actually covering baseball why should you be able to vote for the HOF?

I can see both sides. It's not like he forgets everything he learned about baseball. Hopefully this doesn't lead to Bonds getting in.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2019 4:09 pmsame rule they use to take it away from Baker's, if you are not actually covering baseball why should you be able to vote for the HOF?

I did chuckle at his love of Jeter's fielding ability because he won gold gloves. Jeter widely considered to be a mediocre SS at best defensively

the deal was there was this life long voting rights privilege deal, there were voters that hadn't written a baseball story for years voting every year. I can see there be some hurt feelings, and some voters that it could seem unfair, that were right on the cusp, but i think the rule change made sense.

Well Edgar might not be in if they hadn't made the change so count me in favor of it.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2019 4:22 pmthe deal was there was this life long voting rights privilege deal, there were voters that hadn't written a baseball story for years voting every year. I think after doing something for 30+ you should be grandfathered into it....kind of like recieving a pension....of course if he did not vote for Edgar he should have lost his right to vote
