Naming Rights were bought by Amazon and it will be called the Climate Pledge arena. Bezos probably just did it to F with Sawant and the SCC.

Such a hokey name for an arena, just pandering to soft-heads...

Like many others, I'm not thrilled with the new name. "We're going to the Accountant Arena to watch the Seattle NHL team play!"

However, it is quite interesting that the arch nemesis to many on the SCC has acquired the naming rights to the arena that is their pride and joy. Indeed, how does Sawant feel about all of this?

In all seriousness, I think having Amazon acquiring the naming rights could help bring the Sonics back. Having Bezos in the mix could be beneficial. That is, IF he's interested in being a part owner of Sonics 2.0.

Even if I was I huge NHL fan I don't think I would be lying awake night after night waiting for the name like some seem to be doing. Name and Uniform obsessions are something I will never understand. I mean sure I wouldn't want to be called the Pimps or the dogshits but same act like the name of the team is the most important aspect of the whole thing.

Well, if they name the franchise the Krakens, it won't matter what the name of the arena is because fans will call it the Krakhouse (and themselves Krakheads).

Haven't you noticed? The climate in Seattle so far this summer is due to Sudden Global Warming! Er, Global Cooling? Uh, OK, Sudden Climate Change because Seattle never used to have cloudy days in the summer, right?

The should have got rid of the entire roof while they were at it.

btw I worked for Key Bank as a teller in 1992 for a few months. Made about $7 bucks an hour. Julio Cruz used to come through the Drive through there in downtown Bellevue.
