Mariner starter prospects

Post by Hanjag » Wed Jul 01, 2020 6:17 am

Marco G established 3 WAR starter

Kikuchi scouts say #2, #3

Gravemann mid rotation when healthy stop gap

Walker former top 100 and one Ace like year 135 ERA+ but is not bad over his career with a 105 ERA+ stop gap

Justus Top 100 scouts say #2#3

Justin Dunn top 100 BP/SP questions

That is the presumed starting 6,
Marco should have 4 years and Kik is Locked up long term
Dunn and Justus are rookies still I think so 6 years but Sheffield is more promising in my mind and Dunn just appears to be OK at everything stuff, performance, projection, just uninspiring
Walker & Gravemann = STop gap but Walker will still only be 27 and could be a big trade candidate or even an extension option

Prospects
Logan Gilbertt Scouts say #2,#3 but I really like him 6'6" He has an extreme K/BB ratio and the stuff is there
George Kirby #2,#3 25K-0 BB insane ratio
Ike Campbell again #2,#3 type and Diaz like BP profile,100 mph fastball and tunnel slider == change and =curve in development
Emerson Hancock Maybe #1, 4- pitch mix touches 99 sits mid 90s, many considered him #1 coming into the year
Sam Carlson A presumed #1 round pick he has been derailed by injury but he can still be salvaged
Brandon Williamson 2nd Rd pick 6'6" LHP mid 90's
Juan Then 6'1" who hits 95 advanced approach for age mid rotation
Ljay Newsome Another insane control guy 169/17 k/bb ratio but only about 65 k/9 in AA #5
Brayan Perez 19 low 90's now future?
Kristian Cardozo 16 low 90s now and could develop as he moves along

Did I miss any notable starters?
I know the focus is on the 3 1st Rd picks, and Justus and Dunn but Campbell-Carlson-Williamson and others may develop as well,

I'm just happy with the sheer amount of talent in the pool right now.

Yep Bleacher Report has its number two ranked system. That is pretty amazing given we were dead last just two years ago
