Overall, his 2020 peripherals were better from his 2019 debut. He walked 7.8 percent of the time and struck out 23.8 percent of the time, a vast improvement from the 36.4 percent the year prior. And he still showed off that raw power we all dream of seeing come to fruition (I mean, did you watch the video above?) with a nearly 43 percent hard hit rate and an exit velocity of 91.0. Unfortunately, that doesn’t matter much when it’s hit right at people, evidenced by his .280 BABIP, the lowest of his entire professional career.

might not want to bring up Austin Riley either, though that is kind of interesting in terms of hard hit balls and BABIP
Re: 2020-2021 Hot Stove Thread
I would do Seager and Trammel for Riley. They can keep Inciarte. But I guess we have to take him to offset salary? If so he can be our 5th OFer or trade him for an old King Dog.harmony wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 4:07 pmWould anyone trade Kyle Seager and Taylor Trammell to Atlanta for third baseman Austin Riley and center fielder Ender Inciarte?
Baseball Trade Values has the trade as a perfect match:

The Mariners gamble that Riley replaces Seager long-term and Inciarte provides a bridge to Seattle’s touted outfield prospects.
Seager joins the club closest to his North Carolina roots and Trammell returns to his home state.
But I am a fan of Kyle Seager, an underrated player whose lefthanded power bat is needed in the Mariner lineup.

26 HRs in 503 PAs as a 22-23yo. Sign me up. A bit of a hacker but that is a massive improvement which shows he is making an effort.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 4:21 pmmight not want to bring up Austin Riley either, though that is kind of interesting in terms of hard hit balls and BABIP

Ender Inciarte, on the other hand had the lowest exit velocity in baseball

He could be our designated bunter.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 4:29 pmEnder Inciarte, on the other hand had the lowest exit velocity in baseball

Jose Vidro was the cause of my first conniption fit.
I went ballistic when they signed a weak 2B to be our DH.
Re: 2020-2021 Hot Stove Thread
Vidro actually had a decent year for us in 2007 and then fell off the face of the earth in 2008.

Anyone remember Brad Wilkerson. Another terrible signing in that era. Signed to be the full time RFer and lasted 19 games.

Didn't they follow up with Jack Cust? Cleanup hitter whose philosophy seemed to be "Got guys on second and third. This would be a great time to draw a walk"

You could probably write a small book about the hopefuls that the front office brought onto the roster from 2005-2018. "The Lost Years", as I call them.
