Re: Top 50 M's

I feel like whoever made this list started watching in 1995. Some notables from the top 50 all time in WAR in an M's uniform that are missing. 20. Mike Moore with a 17.8 WAR in an M's Uni 25. Erik Hansen 16.8 WAR 29. Jim Beattie 13.9 WAR 31. Floyd Bannister 13.1 WAR 32. Franklin Gutierez 13.0 WAR 33...

Re: The value of Switch hitting

I feel like batting left handed or right handed is not as tied to the brain as throwing is. There are many examples of guys who bat from one side and throw with the other hand. I would assume that most of those guys also write with the hand they throw with. here is an interesting article. Framber Va...

Re: The official Hot Stove League Thread 2025-26 Offseason

I think its pretty clear what the strategy is going to be with the bullpen. I'm honestly not too upset about it. If their is anything they have done exceptionally well its identify and coach up bullpen arms. But Man 4.55 ERA and a 1.516 WHIP in AA/AAA last season is not exactly lights out.

.847 in the AFL this year but yeah I would have no problem with trading him.
AFL is full of nobodies. The only other M's prospect in their top 20 that is participating is Marcelo Perez. Not sure you can take too much from stats in that League. Its just a spot for people to get some extra reps.

Polanco isn't going to be as easy to sign as Naylor. Going to play out the market which is fine. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6816195/2025/11/18/seattle-mariners-jorge-polanco-market-mlb-notes/ I Like the idea of Trading for Yandy Diaz for DH. He can play a bit of third base in a pinch too.

Re: Mariners finalizing 5 year contract with Josh Naylor

I am sure they have done the math and determined that the demand is inelastic. A lot of fans will be there no matter what. Also they may have other investment opportunities that they think will net a higher ROI. That's the weird part about it. Pro-Sports is profitable but the returns are nowhere ne...

Re: Postmortem: Sea v Lambs - The One That Got Away

You had to go back to USC in 2017 to find a high pressure moment where he excelled. And? They were down 49 to 35 going into the 4th due to what I recall as a bad INT by Darnold. Good on him for the great 4th quarter, but for you to find a time he excelled in that moment? You had to go back to his l...

Re: Postmortem: Sea v Lambs - The One That Got Away

I too think the big game narrative is over blown. Making a sweeping generalization on a couple of games is weak. Especially since the two games against the Ram's were entirely different. Last year he was running for his life sacked 9 times. You really going to put 9 sacks completely on him not being...

Re: Mariners finalizing 5 year contract with Josh Naylor

Imagine if payroll was just flat with 2017 on an inflation adjusted basis. It would be at ~$215M and we would have about $60M to spend. Could trade for Donovan and sign Tucker and Okamoto. You'd think that these owners would have enough foresight to realize how much a championship could do for thei...
