Re: No New Wars!
I can't imagine that many people are going to defend Iran and the Ayatollahs. Between the domestic repression/murder of protesters and the acts of the "proxies" (Hezbollah, Hamas, etc.) they are responsible for a lot of the trouble in the world, in my opinion. (I don't care if Khamenei was a simple,...

Re: M's sign Mitch Garver to minor league deal.
The problem with Garver is he's only better than the other backup catcher. If having Garver means he gets 5-10 more starts than Knizer, I dont think the difference between Garver/Knizer is as large as the difference between Garver and anybody else that will be in the lineup ahead of him. So, to me,...

Re: Mass shooting in British Columbia
LOL good one. Van life. ;-) That is a pretty bleak picture you pain, AuroraAve. Two questions: [1] Haven't other countries had the same "social" pressures as the US, and [2] With all off this horrible stuff, why is the homicide rate so LOW (the highest number on bpj's chart is 30.4 per 100,000 per y...

Re: Spring Training Thread
Somethings going on here, does Knizner really deserve a ML contract over Garver? I don't want to bother debating their relative value but still. Did they offer Mitch the Knizner contract and he turned it down thinking he could do better? Must have been the case.... Yes, that makes sense. I'm ok wit...

SeattleorBust: Does the chart imply that there were NO mass shootings anywhere else? (Haiti? Venezuela? Kenya?) DavidGee: It is a good question, if the poor parts of these cities are like the poor parts of the US cities you cite. But, correct me if I am wrong, aren't the mass shootings in the US ty...

Re: Super Bowl halftime show
X is such a trip. Somebody made up a story that said the Seahawks declined to go to the White House and then Trump uninvited them. Both stories are complete BS yet of course thousands of people bought it hook line and sinker and massive arguments broke out about without a single person on either si...

Julio hit 362 with an Ops over 1,000 in Arkansas and Emerson hit 282 with an Ops of 790 but sure some Scouts pretend they are super smart and say that he's more advanced for some b******* ambiguous intangible reason That is like comparing apples and bikini clad girls. Of course Julio had a much hig...

Do you really think he was iced because he opposes policies? I'd suspect there are thousands in that category! :) I'd say it was because of his popularity. I think he was the most streamed artist in the world in 2025. And I hear all the time that the NFL is trying to get more of a global presence, ...

Re: Mass shooting in British Columbia
I think you are absolutely correct. People on both sides have things they focus on and ignore facts and numbers. I will say three things: One of that it's pretty much human nature to notice the vivid things, the shiny objects so to speak. "10 people killed at the mall" catches your attention more t...
