Re: Could the M's swing a trade w. Haniger to acquire a young, controlled MLB piece?
Hm, My bad and apologies @ thread starter "IstilllovetheM's" Baseballref has Ketel as a 2023 free agent and I found Marte signed a contract that would pay him 8M in 2022 10M in 2023 and 12M in 2024 I figured something was missing when I was using: https://www.baseballtradevalues.com/trades/?s_type=p...

Mets win that trade.
DBacks get a top 100, and 2 2nd Rnd picks 2 picks in the top 12 of a strong farm and have just started their MiLN development.
M's lose big.

Re: Could the M's swing a trade w. Haniger to acquire a young, controlled MLB piece?
I don't know why you would want to do this. 1. Both Haniger and Marte are FA's in 2023. 2. You are giving up 3 other valuable quality pieces for a trash prospect reliever 5'10" 9 ERA 2021 and a 5.61 ERA in the minors 2B Zach Deloach a 2nd rounder # 12 2C Williamson another 2nd Rd pick is the #9 2D G...

Another 1-run win   33-35 w. a -61 run differential     It looks bad, but it is much better on paper. Injuries Lewis, Haniger, France, Moore, Fraley have all missed time with them added to: Seager, Crawford, Murphy, and either Trammell or Bauer .263-.333-.474 with us T...
Re: All-in?
The article makes the point that moving the money would give Russ to use the franchise tag rules in the most recent CBA against them. The rule says that if franchised Russ would get 120% X (previous year's cap hit) So, in 2024 Russ's negotiation starts with the leverage to avoid a franchise tag that...
Re: All-in?
Do the people who selected "restructore Bobby and Russ" understand that Wilson's asking price on his next contract would go way up if they did that? It doesn't matter as much with Wagner because he is probably gone after 2022 if he doesn't re-sign for whatever JS offers. I have heard that before bu...

Re: Grades for "Jerry's Kids" on the MLB roster
There is still hope on the farm but this is an assessment of the MLB players that have made their debuts PRRSB after the (post rebuild reimagine step back) speech after the 2018 season. The draft picks: Lewis - Injury prone guy that did manage to win the ROY but all due to a hot first month of a tw...

All-in?
I am wondering if the pulse of fandom is with me or not. I see there are a couple of clear upgrades available in free agency. We could get a bit of an upgrade at center and right tackle. Schwartz is a premium tackle pro-bowl type who would be a game-changer. In 2020 Schwartz was a 75 PFF but was inj...

Kyle Lewis meniscus repair procedure
According to: https://www.uofmhealth.org/health-library/te7372 If there were not any complications 4 to 6 weeks from his 6/9 surgery. If there were, 3-6 months. Moore is back giving the M's 6 competent players in the line-up. Crawford, Haniger, Seager, France, Moore, and Fraley. Lewis would make 7. ...
