Dane Dunning is fine to stash in Tacoma. Chances are good he stays there the entire season and never sees the major league roster.

Re: The official Hot Stove League Thread 2025-26 Offseason
Maybe they can do a floor and just increase the lux tax? But these high end salaries just took a huge bump up. For about 20 years it was basically the Arod deal was about the max. AAV Now 60M to Tucker, 42M for Bo, 765M for Soto, 700M for Ohtani. That is a crazy jump up in terms of how much the top...

Re: The official Hot Stove League Thread 2025-26 Offseason
I saw something in the last week saying the baseball and major league soccer were at about the same level of popularity? I don't have the source so I don't know what the methodology used was.

Re: The official Hot Stove League Thread 2025-26 Offseason
I think owners will push hard for a cap but may not be willing to go far enough to get it, and as a consequence we could wind up losing most or even all of the 2027 season. What is going far enough to get it??? 2 seasons? 3? 5??? All the capped sports have agreements on percentage of revenue, which...

AYep the Dodgers are just buying WS Titles. If there was a Cap they would be lucky to win 60 games.   Screenshot 2026-01-16 160902.png The Dodgers' elite farm system is actually a product of their wealth because they can afford the best scouts, technology, and analysts to find and d...

Re: 2026 Prospects Thread
The Mariners apparently signed 3 of the top 50 international prospects, as defined by MLB pipeline. Here's the article: https://www.mlb.com/news/seattle-mariners-2026-international-signings These kids are so young, and the failure rate on Latin American prospects is so high, that I'm not even sure w...

Re: M's acquire another reliever
I found this old scouting report from 2023, when pipeline had him as the #3 Blue Jays prospect. Obviously, things went south on him after that. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scouting grades: Fastball: 70 | C...
