Re: Confidence Level heading into the playoffs
I'm not sure if this has been posted on another thread yet, or not. But in case you all missed it - this is a great read. We are headed to the national stage, y'all. We're not going to be the best kept secret in the majors for long. https://www.mlb.com/news/featured/mariners-are-team-to-root-for-in-...

Re: Confidence Level heading into the playoffs
Agreed. Ohtani seems competitive, but then it seems like he’s only on the Angels so he can throw rose petals in front of Trout when he walks up to bat.
Did you see the 490 foot bomb Trout spanked last night? The Angels are pissing away the best years of the best player in baseball. Shame on them.

Re: Confidence Level heading into the playoffs
I honestly do not really want Shohei Ohtani on the Mariners. He seems like he's always trying to not offend someone. I want a pitcher who is willing to drill someone in the ribs and not flinch if it gives him a competitive advantage. I really don't want him because he's a 2-way player. Hitters get ...

Re: Confidence Level heading into the playoffs
I don't know if this is anything or not - but I was just curious, so I spent 2 minutes doing research. The Padres represent the traditional rebuild - shed salaries, retain some homegrown stars, and get super splashy and spendy in the offseason to sign some of the biggest names. The M's have, so far ...

Re: Confidence Level heading into the playoffs
That would have been a great time for you and your dad. Sorry for your loss Thanks. He was 84 and not in great health. Still, I would like for him to have held on for this epic showdown. He'd have given me all kinds of shit. I went to a few games with him in 1991 and 1992 when I was living in Toron...

Re: Confidence Level heading into the playoffs
First unanimous poll in poll history Sorry to be an outlier. My dad was a big Jays fan (sadly he passed away 2 weeks ago and didn't live to see the Jay-M's series). As such, I got to follow the M's by proxy. They have a couple of great starters (Manoah is lights out when he's on). But they have a p...

Yeah. Saw that. Posted it yesterday, but I buried it in another thread:

But yeah, it's super cool.
Go, M's!!

Re: Mariners 2023 Roster
Not sure where this belongs - didn’t feel it needed it’s own thread. Guess it will get buried in this one. But for those who are interested, there’s an interesting read in the NYT on the Mariners and their rebuild: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/09/26/sports/baseball/seattle-mariners-postseason-drough...

Re: Mariners 2023 Roster
Without actually looking at of this up (so take it for what it’s worth): Correa has to opt out - and he’s going to want a big, long contract. He can likely play 2B, so he’d be a good option if we want to get splashy and Dip and JP want to honor their pinky promise to keep him at SS. Turner is a FA. ...
