Re: Why can't the Mariners sign a free agent hitter?
Difference is the Astros had Altuve, Springer, Bregman, Guriel, Correa. We have Cal, Klew and JK. :? Well, I suppose it’s a matter of faith that a couple of those guys will pan out. This whole rebuild is predicated on that, much like Houston’s was. Altuve was bad his first 2 years. Bregman didn’t e...

Re: Why can't the Mariners sign a free agent hitter?
And we still haven't signed a FA position players since Beckham 38 months ago. Maybe that changes next off season. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't. I understand. I hope it does. The M's will be in a position next year to add a 2B and probably another outfielder. There's 2x big fish out there....

Re: Why can't the Mariners sign a free agent hitter?
If you don't like Correa for 3 years which will likely be one or two years then you will NEVER sign another impact FA position player. What were they going to do with Correa? He wasn't going to come to Seattle to play 2nd base. The M's weren't going to rock the boat with JP, whether you agree with ...

Re: Why can't the Mariners sign a free agent hitter?
So wait until NEXT OFFSEASON. We will spent HUGE! We promise! LOL Well, you have to consider whether it would have been wise to drop a lot of cash on the players in this class. I wasn't in love with any of them and aside from maybe Castellanos, they all got insane money and years given their histor...

Re: Why can't the Mariners sign a free agent hitter?
This free agent class featured players with a lot of risk. Bryant - Concerns over slowing down, injured in 2018 and 2020. No way it would be wise to give a 30 year old w. no position 7/$182. Story - Coors risk was too great. We're talking a 200 point OPS dip on the road. Why give a guy with this mu...

Re: Baker Mayfield
I don't know why. But I'd prefer rolling with Marcus Mariota with Lock as a backup.
Maybe Marcus takes off in a new environment/offense.

Re: Watson to the Browns??
is being reported in a bunch of places. He must've liked the massage scene in Cleveland. Wow. I think we get Baker for a 6th and a bag of skittles. It's amazing that there's pretty good evidence for this guy being a serial sexual assaulter, yet he gets to make $250ish million fully guaranteed. Gott...
