Re: advice 4 Bryce: fill A's dugout w/mice with lice GT 5/11/24
I went to the game tonight... One thing is painfully evident, I don't think Julio will hit his potential until he gets a mean streak in him. Dude spends the entire game giggling and interacting with kids in the stands and making x's in the outfield with the no fly zone... Dude needs to put his head ...

Re: A trade deadline plan:
Gut reaction: Why would the San Francisco Giants trade a resurgent Michael Conforto for a year and two months of a floundering Mitch Garver when designated hitter Jorge Soler is under contract through 2026? It's a good thing these players can do things other than DH... the Giants outfield is dog pi...

Re: A trade deadline plan:
Dunno if the trade is comparable in terms of what the M’a give up, but I would much rather get Mason Miller from the A’s. He’s a beast, he’s due to become a FA next season, and the A’s aren’t going anywhere this season either. He would be a top tier closer. https://californiaherps.com/snakes/images...

Re: 5/9 Game Thread: Splitting the Twins
I still don't get why it's hard to get doubles at T-Mobile. Is it a smaller than average outfield or does a combination of field surface and air density keep more balls from getting to the wall? I don't buy that the ball stays in the air longer resulting in more caught balls. I think speed of the f...

A trade deadline plan:
Mariners trade DH Mitch Garver, OF Cade Marlow, SP Michael Morales to the Giants for OF Michael Conforto Rationale: The Giants aren't going anywhere. They've lost 7 of 10 and already find themselves 9 games back in the NL West. Conforto is in the last year of a deal that pays him $18 million and th...

Re: What to expect from this offseason's acquisitions going forward
Fans are susceptible to recency bias, especially with newly acquired players. So are you a robot then? I am secure enough to welcome statistical challenges to my gut reactions. Somewhat unrelated, but the current lecture in my sports analytics course discusses the data generated by a single event. ...

I also am not sure why it's got to be Emerson if they need a 5th starter (hypothetically).
Jhonathan Diaz would be a very viable option.

Re: Early trade candidates
Another name to add to the list with the Brash news:
Ryan Helsley from STL. Throws 101... 1.50 ERA... .89 WHIP... 11 saves. ERA of like 1.75 the last 3 seasons.
Seems very likely to be moved as he's a free agent in 2026 and the Cards r going nowhere.
