Re: New OC thread
Pete got two years after Russ. Now JS is going into year two of not having Pete. I think JS is on the hot seat finally. I tend to agree. Remember when we used to wonder how many of Schneider's decisions were vetoed by PC? Now that he's gone, Jody will be expecting Schneider to make things happen. I...

Re: Wildfires in CA
Glib is a funny word and yes, the Maher clip nails it.
Side note: it would be fun to hear what George Carlin would have to say about all of this nonsense. I would also be interested in hearing Bill Hicks' take. Alas.

Re: To pay a QB, or to not pay a QB?
I don't think there will ever be a sure-fire formula for selecting a QB. Brady was a 6th rounder. And there are so many 1st round busts. Anyone can measure their height, weight, hand size, etc. but it's the intangibles that can't be measured empirically. I mentioned this on another thread, but out o...

Re: Round two Playoffs thread
Regarding Lions: Tom Brady made a good point during the broadcast about how teams don't necessarily build and improve after every season. There are a lot of changes that happen that makes each season more of a reset. It's true. And I think you're right when you say that their window may be closed.

Re: Round two Playoffs thread
The missed field goal by the Texans is downright hysterical. You're in the playoffs, down 23-12, it's 4th and 14 so you decide to settle for a field goal because, hey, we're going to lose anyway so we may as well lose by 3 fewer points, and field goals are easy. But it ends up being blocked, so you...

Re: Round two Playoffs thread
I don't hate the Chiefs. Historically, I love the Chiefs. I think Arrowhead Stadium is iconic. And I like Andy Reid. But as of late? The Mahomes' ass-kissing is off the chart. Which makes me less of an NFL fan. It used to be about football, now it's all about overexposure and whoring of the game.

Re: Wildfires in CA
Full disclosure: I stole this from the comments section on YouTube... "Bill didn't mention the salaries of the govt. employees who were supposed to tend to this : LA Water Chief : $750,000 Fire Chief : $400,000 Asst. Fire Chief who doesn't want to rescue men : $325,000" He didn't mention the salarie...
