Re: Jude's Robert trade

If Robert was auditioning to be a Mariner, 3-12 in the series with 3 dingers wasn't a bad audition. And he amazingly proved he can stay healthy for half a week..... Robert is probably as likely as Haniger staying healthy, and way better. Getting him would give you an outfield of Raey, Julio and Rob...

Re: 6/14/24 Mariners vs Rangers game and other stuff thread

Since I don't have a clever play on words for the Rangers' starting pitcher, Andrew Heaney (Heaney the Meaney? Hell no), let's make this a multi-faceted thread. Our six starting pitchers have a combined won/lost record of 24-24. As good as they've been and considering we're 40-31, that is just real...

So we have bliss in the lineup instead of Raley. One of the best hitters on the team sits for a guy who has one hit in his major league career
We don’t need no stinkin’ stats! Everybody knows you have to bench your left handed hitters when there is a lefty on the mound…

Re: Breaking: Stanton expects them to be active in trade market

The concern is, trading potential stars for mid players that end up like Winker, Frazier, Wong, Polanco, etc. His that aren’t really much better than the guys they already have. Agree that is a concern, but to me the difference is whether or not you want to win now. Last time I checked, they don’t ...

Re: Breaking: Stanton expects them to be active in trade market

I don't get the whole worry about trading prospects. Right now, we have the best 1-5 starting staff in team history, and desperately need bats. As I see it, there are three ways to go. First is to trade some prospects for proven MLB hitters. As much as we'd like to trade our garbage for other team'...

Re: A look at the off season additions so far

Seems to me that if you need a backup catcher to play once a week and are ok with him hitting well below the Mendoza line that Garver is your man. Time to send Seby to Tacoma. Yet we carry both just so Garver won’t hurt himself, while we are all hoping he pulls a hammy or something so we don’t have ...

Re: Urias to AAA finally, Clase back

I think Urias was a good acquisition in terms of process, and it may still turn out well. Suarez was clearly in decline and they were able to offload his salary to the Diamondbacks. Urias is 27 and the gamble was that his sub-par performance in 2023 was injury related and that they were buying low ...

Larry Vanover is 68 years old.

Why is a 68 year old calling balls and strikes for games that have $millions in implications on them?
Good question. On the bright side, Angel Hernandez is "retiring" to spend more time with his family :D
