Re: Mariners acquire Jorge Polanco from the Twins!!!!!

Wow...it's like being in school at home :!: How about this....let's be happy if Jerry didn't get swindled on this deal...like he has on virtually every deal since the Nola deal. Polanco will hit what he hits...no need to pull out your dicks to see whose is bigger. Now, please let the thread continu...

Re: Mariners acquire Jorge Polanco from the Twins!!!!!

Welp. I've proposed a lot of trades for Polanco over the past while. Maybe Harmony will reference our conversations about that (he didn't want him)  I sere's more trades to secure 3rd. There isn't going to be any more trades. They were going with Urias at 3B from the second they traded f...

Re: Finally! Official Hot Stove League thread!

I saw this in The Athletic today. My first thought was "Don't let Jerry see this" :D ‘That’s why I still play’: At 46, Fernando Rodney pitches on, seeking an MLB comeback Every morning starts the same for Fernando Rodney. The longtime Major League closer walks out to the stairwell in his apartment c...

Re: Ohtani to Dodgers!!!!!

Seems ohtani really was interested in staying an angel. Kinda begs the question why didn't they trade him. .Before Shohei Ohtani made his decision last week to sign with the Dodgers, he and his agent, Nez Balelo of CAA Sports, approached the Angels near the end of his free-agent process, giving Oht...

Re: Cleveland wins the 1st ever MLB draft lottery!

Some things never change- From said Wikipedia article re Tito Nanni: "Accounts by then-Mariners general manager, Dick Viertleib, later indicated that Kirk Gibson was supposed to be their first round draft choice, but the team's financiers did not want to pay the higher salary that Gibson was likely ...

Re: Wow Servais with an Epic quote. Something is up.

If Jerry doesn’t spend some money this offseason, he can cut the BS about needing to save up for the young guys upcoming big paydays, because every one of them will be signing elsewhere as soon as they can

Re: HOF thread

I gave up on the HOF when the Negro league committee that was created to get Buck O’Neill into the HOF managed to pass him over.

Re: Kelenic traded to braves along W/Marco and white

Well, thank god we didn't get John van Benschoten. He had a worse 2008 than McCain and the Housing market. Good God! https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/v/vanbejo01.shtml Sort of amazing that he could be that bad... he throws 98 with sink and has a decent slider/change... 38 ER's in 30...

Re: Geno gone

So since the season ended the M's have gotten worse at RF, 3b, DH, and backup catcher. Maybe in the bullpen as well, depending on whether or not the new guy they got today is better than Campbell. Did I miss anything?

Re: Geno gone

So Jerry let Teo Walk and Traded Geno. Those two combined for 4.4 WAR last season. He has replaced them with a 0.0 WAR reliever, a -.2 WAR utility infielder and a -.3 WAR backup catcher. Says we should be thanking him. Maybe Jerry thinks we should be thanking him for saving Stanton all that ...
