Re: Lookout Landing on the trade deadline

Trade Haniger and Sheffield to the Dodgers. They get an OFer who might be no better than a number 4 for them, or perhaps he's better than one they already have. Sweeten the pot with a young, cost controlled pitcher who has struggled this year but has loads of potential in Sheffield. In exchange, we...

Re: Lookout Landing on the trade deadline

I didn't like the Cano contract, nor the Ichiro contract for that matter.... both too long The only reason I might pay any position player 200 million is if I can cripple a team in my own division while strengthening my own team...and that would probably also be a high school position player nearin...

Re: Lookout Landing on the trade deadline

What he did before his injury years ago when he was in was in his prime is beyond irrelevant. He is what he is today which is a sub 800 hacker with power and no plate disciple ranked at the bottom of the barrel defensively. 1.3 WAR at the AS break. He is the best hitter on the worst offense in the ...

Re: Lookout Landing on the trade deadline

Yep is a a perfect UT not a starter. Sign Semien and or Bryant. Why not both? Just stick Bryant at 3B and Semien at 2B. Make Moore our util w. Fraley as a rotational OF. DH Haniger and let him play the occasional RF where you then move Bryant to 1B 1. Kelenic LF 2. Haniger DH/RF 3. Semien 2B 4. Bry...

Re: Lookout Landing on the trade deadline

Why would you limit your team to a Haniger level bat at DH when you could get a return for him and easily sign a (better) DH? A Haniger level bat is a career .820 OPS hitter w. a ceiling of .860 and a floor of .780 at about 30 homers a season w. a full year of control making somewhere around $10 mi...

Re: Lookout Landing on the trade deadline

Moore needs to turn it around if he's starting anywhere next year. He's not cutting the mustard this year. I expected possibly a little bit of a regression from last year, but nothing like this. Yep is a a perfect UT not a starter. Sign Semien and or Bryant. Why not both? Just stick Bryant at 3B an...

Re: Lookout Landing on the trade deadline

Ill take a bat-first player at every position. His OPS is already better than Seager by a good margin. Far more runs created by his bat than his glove would cost compared to Seager or Moore. If they can add a Kris Bryant, by all means, do it. But France is our best current option. All depends where...

Re: Lookout Landing on the trade deadline

In regards to Marte I put him in the Chris Taylor bucket of where the hell did that come from. Not to mention the D backs are 25-64 and we are 46-42 so......... And that has nothing to do with Marte or the trade we made with them years ago. They're second to last in team ERA at 5.23... don't think ...

Re: Lookout Landing on the trade deadline

As far as I'm concerned France is our 3B going forward. Moore is our 2B. We don't have a DH or 1B. If they sign a 3B or 2B, France/Moore can move. His offense already makes up for the difference in defense between him and Seager. I'm sorry but France cannot play 3B. We're going to be miserable watc...
