Re: Good Collier video

On the scale of bad, I would say reaching for a guy because of the Senior Bowl is a bigger sin than reaching for a guy based on his actual game tape. So, yeah, they reached for Brooks for a slightly less stupid reason than why they reached for LJ.

Re: A fresh and thorough look at the O line

Honest question here. Besides the Guard we drafted, who I am excited about, who did we bring in new that is better than Iupati and Fluker? We needed to sign all of these guys that were backups elsewhere, just so we could cut three of last year's starters and let Ifedi and Fant walk? So, I would also...

Re: Day 3 Leftovers Thread

who knows, he was considered a pretty interesting prospect... https://www.sbnation.com/2017/4/21/15352828/malik-mcdowell-scouting-report-nfl-draft-2017 Yep. We can't find great players at the bottom end of the first round, but this guy who went top end of the second was going to save our bacon, unt...

what spring training games?...just going by what i read there, he seemed to have been used differently than he was in college
Shit, his college production was herculian in comparison. Maybe they should have used him the way his college did!

Re: Good Collier video

interesting, that's the deal with the Senior Bowl huh, get them with pro coaches... Interesting how a six weeks of Spring training games and workouts with pro coaches is completely meaningless but a couple practices and a game that can barely considered football given all the rules changes is the h...

Since the new forum started, I have felt no compulsion or desire to go back to lurking. :?
:) And I have felt no compulsion to go back to the Times forum. :)
You couldn't. The last one out, HawkBowler, lit a match...right?

not talking about being great, just not knocking himself on the head, that accident really set things back on a number of levels
Maybe. Just as likely that he is like everyone else, limited productivity for a couple of years, a little better the next two and then signs a deal somewhere else.

Re: Day 3 Leftovers Thread

yeah, when you get down to the 28th pick or so in the draft, through the next couple rounds the talent really flattens out. JS keeps getting hammered for the McDowell pick, but again, if McDowell doesn't wack himself on the head, that very well could have ended up regarded as the best trade JS pull...

Re: Day 3 Leftovers Thread

been through this already, they are looking for talent...But if you asked JS why he trades down in the draft, he told you because he wants to find All Pro players it wouldn't make sense. All Pro players are found at the top of the draft, not the bottom. When was the last time a 4-5 round pick made ...

Re: More on Clowney

Yeah, I agree, maybe I made my point poorly. Not sure how accurate a number sacks are to judge a player. Its like RBIs, 16 sacks is great but i am not sure it means he is a significantly better player than the guy with 8-9 sacks. I didn't think Bennett was valued just because of his sack numbers, i...
