JP with a laser down the LF line. lol
I can't remember the last time he got a hit where the ball reached an apex higher than 5 feet.

His average exit velo is basically a Jamie Moyer change up at 83 mph. 4th percentile in exit very and he has Zero Barrels so far this season.

Torrens with 1 hit in his last 34 now I believe w.o checking.

Imagine such a worthless POS making over $500k
His OPS is down 250 points since just last season. I don't get it.
I feel bad for him. He never got the chance to develop correctly. He was taken in the rule 5 draft and stuck at backup C for a full season, then last year he would have probably had a chance to get more minor league AB, but Covid happened.

Torrens is not only worthless at the plate, but he's one of the worst defensive MLB catchers I've ever seen. His pitch framing is comical if it wasn't so frustrating. He can't block a pitch in the dirt to save his life, and he can't throw out base-runners. He's basically a triple threat.

Funny he just blocked that pitch in the dirt and both Sims and Blow say great block.

Yeah. His defense isn't good enough to justify a spot on a roster, so he needs the hitting, and he clearly isn't ready right now, or probably ever

Also, I'm not sure what you guys see in Sheffield. He doesn't instill any confidence in me whatsoever. He's got a decent slider, but everything else is very pedestrian. He's a #4 or #5 at best in my mind.

Nobody said he's an ace. When he's on he's good. He'll have bad games, but he'll also get you through 5-6 innings without too much damage fairly often. I think he's worth a starting spot in the rotation. His fastball has pretty good movement, even if it isn't as fast as some other guys.
