Zero new info there and in fact the BA is very dated. He is a .155 right now.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 11:59 amFrom an ESPN article on each MLB teams biggest hole historically, the Ms its first base...
Evan White our bona fide hope for the future, yup, see how far that slick fielding carries him... through 2028?
2021 snapshot: Evan White is in his second season as the Mariners' regular first baseman and qualifies as a bona fide hope to fill the hole. He has already won a Gold Glove, doing so in his rookie season, but he also hit just .176 and is at .186 in the early going of 2021. With team options at the end of his contract that could keep him in Seattle through 2028, White might be the team's answer at first base. But he's got to hit better than this, no matter how slick he is with the glove.

It's not about info, it's about perception. The article is about each teams historically worst position. Thought it was funny White being viewed as our hope to fill the Mariners

Ours is LF. We have had good 1Bs. Davis, Olerud, Bochte, Tino, Branyan and even Sexson.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 12:20 pmIt's not about info, it's about perception. Re: Zunino vs. White
I was thinking it be left field, he uses a formula, that is what he came up with
.How we ranked the teams
What is a hole score? Simply put, the score attempts to measure the size and duration of each organization's biggest positional sore spot. The basis of the ratings is the Baseball Reference version of WAR, as found on the site's handy positional analysis tool. The annual WAR totals for each position were converted to standard scores, which were then sorted into various buckets that reflect the 20-80 scouting scale.
Hole points were assigned based on these scores. The bigger the hole, the more points carry over to the next year. Good performances subtract points, though the total can never drop below zero because if the score reaches zero, the hole is filled. Also, two straight seasons of above-average performances at a position resets the score to zero for that spot. If a team's score at a position is zero, that position is "green." Otherwise, it is "red."
Teams were ranked by hole score, with ties broken by counting the number of years since the clubs' last "green" season at the spot. If the teams were still tied, teams were ranked by their average scouting score at the position over the years. The system looks at all seasons during the divisional era (since 1969)
Re: Zunino vs. White
It's definitely 1st base now. We don't have a single 1st base prospect behind him either.

Zunino up to around .830 OPS after going 2/4 with a homerun yesterday.

White needs to be in either Double or Triple A. This is getting ridiculous and sad
