I joined the forum in 2007. I was going through a particularly hard period in my life and the forum served as a wonderful outlet. Both of my parents passed in 09, and in 2010 I, too, became very ill and coded in May of that year. Even while in the hospital I read the forum and enjoyed the banter. Back then I learned a lot just reading posts by Gary and RG, and I became friends with both of them outside of the forum.

I will miss the ST forum and all of the posters who enriched my life. I went from the M"s forum to the Sonics to Rant and Rave. It is great that we now have this forum to carry on.

Followed my old bookmark to check out the Times discussions on their new "Mariners talk" board.

Found an article about orca whales.

I guess that's that.

I admit I would come and go but when I was gone it was mostly due to working a lot of hours and didn't feel like doing much surfing.

I remember joining the forum at about the same time DT did. In ten years I posted nearly 10,000 times. DT and his surrogate, Arthur, the ever awake dachshund, posted nearly round the clock and contributed at least 60.000 posts. I don't believe the guy ever held down a permanent job and is a kept man by his long suffering significant other! I did roughly 1000 posts a year. In that same time span, DT averaged 6000. To put this into perspective, If i posted every day in those 10 years, I made less than 3 comments a day. DT, on the other hand, posted 16 times every day. This is why I was certain Arthur was also posting!

Thanks for the ever insightful posts, Arthur. Oh, and you too, DT!
