As far as I'm concerned France is our 3B going forward.

Moore is our 2B.

We don't have a DH or 1B. If they sign a 3B or 2B, France/Moore can move. His offense already makes up for the difference in defense between him and Seager.
I'm sorry but France cannot play 3B.

We're going to be miserable watching him fail there.

He's too slow.

Given the shifting nature of today's game... he's probably more fit to play 2nd base cause he doesn't need to cover as much ground and his arm is better fit for the position.

Yeah stick a slow moving guy w. an inconsistent arm at 3B for years on end. It's going to be so fun.

Dude almost lost us a game the other day spiking a routine throw from 3B. And that doesn't even take into account the plays he won't cover due to his lack of lateral agility.

Ill take a bat-first player at every position. His OPS is already better than Seager by a good margin. Far more runs created by his bat than his glove would cost compared to Seager or Moore.

If they can add a Kris Bryant, by all means, do it.

But France is our best current option. All depends where they choose to spend their $'s.

1B/DH will be much cheaper as always.

In regards to Marte I put him in the Chris Taylor bucket of where the hell did that come from. Not to mention the D backs are 25-64 and we are 46-42 so.........

And that has nothing to do with Marte or the trade we made with them years ago. They're second to last in team ERA at 5.23... don't think Marte can help that while he's hit to a .974 OPS... albeit in limited time.

There was always a lot of talk of Marte's ceiling... especially if he could find a way to add power (which he did) and he was our no. 2 prospect when the M's promoted him.

If France can jump his production to .280/.370/.450/.820 w. 25-30 dingers then I'd be fine w. him playing 3B in a "bat-first" position like you're mentioning.

But .264/.348/.419/.767 isn't cutting it.

Seager is a far better defensive 3B and his career OPS is .764... reducing drastically as it seems he's leaving his prime. Seager has however had 6 seasons of .775 or better.

TOTALLY AGREE he needs to get the OPS over .800 even with his amazing D at 1B. :)

He was at .850 in April, .510 in May when he was injured, .867 in June and is hitting .308 this month but only 1 x base hit so .691 OPS.

He is an .800+ bat long term imo.

Moore needs to turn it around if he's starting anywhere next year. He's not cutting the mustard this year. I expected possibly a little bit of a regression from last year, but nothing like this.
